  1. Pretty sure on his current form we are safe from anybody making a "huge offer" for Benteke next month.
  2. We played poorly against a team that came to frustrate. Got a point out of it. Sitting in 10th. Yeah things could be better but I am happy enough to get something from games where we play utter gash. Sooner this than the "excitement" of last season thanks.
  3. A friend of mine who follows the Russian league says he is very good. He also thinks it is highly unlikely Kuban would sell him as he is very important to them.
  4. Watched the whole thing on AVTV. Was great to see his sense of humour, his digs about his pace were pretty funny.
  5. Faulkner has recently stated that Lamberts gross spend to date is £43m - basically that means that higher fees reported are one going into the accounts - not the Lambo adjusted figures - so he roughly spent £20m this summer. Conclusion then Lowton cost considerably more than the £800k lambo suggested - and Benteke's fee was closed to £7m than £4m Whilst we don't the figure in the accounts for this summer it is fair to assume that - Bacuna and Luna were close to the £1.5m fee's reported , than the Lambo suggested £800k Thanks. Well in that case yeah, we are probably done for shopping (outside of freebies) this season then.
  6. I did wonder about the timing. Now it makes sense if it is for last season. So Randy's 20 million ish per year holds true. Why is Lambert downplaying the numbers put about? No idea, probably some are reported higher than reality, some under. or he could just be talking some shite as managers do My guess is he still has some budget left for January, out of this years 20M.
  7. I cannot believe you are serious? The Euro's broke him man. Never been the same since.
  8. Excellent news all round. Hope he does well , hope they take him permanently, hope they do well.
  9. Even though hairy hands had said he spent £10 million in the summer and we're still limited by low wages. Also possible Lambert is keeping some of his money for January? That midfield role we need perhaps?
  10. Reads to me like Randy has continued his recent policy of 20 million a season on transfers with an insistence the wages get balanced over time. Seems more than fair.
  11. Still love him. Love his energy, beats his man just about every time. getting good crosses in. My irrational belief he is going to be a great player for us continues. As noted though this has to be faith based at this point.
  12. Most of that sounds like the marc we know, low energy could just be getting used to it all again though. He was never really lightning quick anyway was he? Could be. He was clearly missed after he was subbed. I like Marc (who doesnt? Great lad), on that performance though he still has a ways to go to break into our starting line up. The idea of him pushing out Bacuna or Weimann on the right is hard to see. If he does play I think he will help our possession and make us more solid in midfield, at the detriment to our attacking play. Still we all want him to do well, maybe Lambert has a formation in mind that will play to his strengths?
  13. Probably appearance fees are a factor, same as Hutton. If Hutton or Given wanted first team football they could put in a transfer request and they could get it. But they dont because they dont believe they will ever get paid as much as just milking their current contract with us. Shrug. We signed em so what they are doing is fair, but dont ask me to feel sorry for them.
  14. Watching him now during the Brighton game. Positives: Easily the best crosser on the pitch Disciplined. Keeping his position to the inch. No wonder Coyle loves him. Beat his man by trickery a few times Negatives: Low energy, several times the camera has every player running on the pitch except one, Marc. Emerson Boyce (age 34) has twice the energy marc does. Poor pace. For someone who plays on the wing he struggles beating his man for pace. Has to rely on his skill. Poor tackles. I cant remember Marc tackling anyone, ever. He is replaced by McClean and Albrighton looks much better in comparison. Wigan immediately become much worse as McClean takes himself out of the game by hugging the touchline unlike Marc who plays a far effective game using all of the wing. All of Brighton's attacks now coming down the wing with McLean on , clearly targeting that wing now Marc is off. Smart, I have to say Coyle made a mistake subbing him, in particular for a weak/erratic player like McClean. Game over. Still not sure Marc is ready for our team, McClean continues to be awful and Holt is a thug.
  15. He did have a bad game. Lazy back pass and some poor attempts going forward. I dont seem to recall him getting beat by his man much though. Most attacks came down Clarks way if I recall correctly?
  16. That was like a B52 load of truth bombs being dropped right there.
  17. Our best midfielder today by a mile. Poor first half (like everyone) really picked up his game in the second. Loved the moment he lost 3 men surrounding him AND made the pass afterwards. If anything his work rate went up towards the end of the game.
  18. Probably our worst player today. Anonymous for a lot of the game and when he wasnt he was awful. Obviously going through a bad patch of form. Hope he comes out of it soon.
  19. I thought he was awful for much of the game. I was surprised he was not subbed. Great goal and a good performance after it though.
