  1. KEA continues to be one of the few bright spots we have this season. I do not understand the slating he gets.
  2. He had a bad game which he has fessed up to. His team mates also had a bad game and left the bloke hanging. The manager had a bad game by not fixing it when it was obvious what was happening. I had a bad game because I HATE ManU. Lets hope we all learn from the experience
  3. loool, looooooool! <breathe> looooooooooooooooooooool! Joke club, joke support.
  4. Two seasons is fair. KEA was poor his first season but has been good his second. Its a cliche but true, some players need time to adjust to the league.
  5. Not me. I think we will lose against ManU. Not the end of the world they are an expensive team. I do hope we play a bit better though.
  6. Agreed. Time to shake it up I think.
  7. "The players can look at their own performance over the next few days, here is what I think I got wrong today - <Insert Manager talking about decisions he made which he believes were a mistake>" That would work for me. So tell the next team you play what you'll change? That would be genius. No, I said ; say what mistakes you made this time against this team. You need say nothing about the next opponent.
  8. I hope you're right. I've got about 13 games of evidence this season to suggest that this is how he does want us to play. I'm not saying 18 months gets you the finished article but you should expect to see his stamp. I hope to God this isn't it. One of Lamberts traits though is he WILL tinker and completely change style. Compare how we played at West Ham start of last season versus this season. Last season i counted at least four different formations and styles. He changes, that is who he is. He did the same at Norwich and he is doing the same with us. If you dont like how Villa are playing right now then just wait , it will change, then change again. This can be frustrating (I LOVED how we started last season stylistically and was annoyed we changed) but also it can be hopeful if we are playing a style you do not like.
  9. Think he rejected us. We didn't reject him. Other way around. Dave Whelan was the only one saying the opposite. We spoke to him and didnt offer him the job.
  10. Fans out! I have been screaming for the fans to be fired for months, still Lerner keeps them around. If he doesnt do it we will end up relegated ffs!

  12. Just set it to record. Thanks for the info. No prob, just FYI it is all in spanish. Still having the games there is good. 691 is Spanish too? I assume so, I havent watched that one yet.

  14. So AVTV is on a spanish channel here in the states (DirectTV channel 458 Deportes) It is all the Villa games plus all the AVTV content in highdef. There are three shows a week plus a weekly round up show on that lasts for three hours on channel 691 which does recaps the whole thing. Interestingly no other club has such coverage. Either Villa are more popular than I realised or this is a special deal between that station and Villa. Either way, nice one.
  15. KEA deserves more love. He is still carrying the cloud of last season which was poor. This season however he is much improved, deserves fan support, dare I say even a KEA song to keep his spirits up?
  16. Thoughtful post OP. I think you are right. Still no excuse for some of our passing mind but tactically Lambert seems to be doing what you suggest. He does change though, usually four times a season at least (he did with Norwich he did with us last season) so he could change yet again on Sunday for all we know.
  17. I hear there is a trophy called "Pride of the Midlands" I suppose we could win that this year. It only seems to matter to the stripey filth though.
  18. With a Premier League winners medal... Good for him, he can wear it on the bench for whatever team he ends up at. Ashley played well for us and then he left with a year on his contract and we got good money. I have no problem with the lad but it is over. Have you seen him play recently? His confidence is shot, how is playing as a loanee at his old club going to be seen as anything but a step backwards for him? It wouldnt work and neither would the economics I think.
  19. Really not having this we were crap and Southampton were great. They just hoofed high balls into our box the whole game. Sure it was effective but hardly tika taka. Lambert planned a counter attacking game. It worked. We can play possession football when we need to, today against a hard to beat pressing team at home was not one of them.
  20. Excellent counter attacking setup by Lambert. Very good.
  21. Routine Villa away win. Southampton are nothing special, our front three will be fully fit and will tear them and their rookie keeper apart. UTV and roll on the game.
  22. We never offered him the job. We turned him down if you want to phrase it that way. Same as Liverpool. Whelan wanting to big up his manager by claiming the opposite doesnt make it true.
  23. There is a wise old Villa saying though, that still holds true to this day. "Never do business with Spurs"
  24. Obviously it wouldnt work now, but lets take the opportunity to celebrate Robbie Keane. He came, helped keep us up just when we needed it and played his heart out for us even when he was just on a loan. I mocked the idea of him coming when it was announced, how wrong I was. Great player.
