  1. No idea what this post means but its emotion is spot on.
  2. Crowds are up over last season. Just saying. Anyway nothing good comes from relegation. Nothing. I dont want us to become the next Forest/Leeds/Sheffield. Everything must be done to avoid it.
  3. An apt comparison I am afraid. We used to look at the likes of Everton & Spurs as our peers. No longer.
  4. I do blame the fans, always have. That said, Lambert did not react to the Adam sub today. Poor.
  5. True, but him and Delph really need to sort out their passing.
  6. We have been the better team by far. So imagine what that makes Stoke. Admittedly they help make us look better
  7. Abrighton gets fouled, then tackles player fairly for ball. Gets yellow carded.
  8. OGS didnt turn us down and neither did Martinez. They were never offered the job. We offered it to Lambert and he accepted. OGS and Martinez seem very good fellows and managers (I was an OGS booster) but the truth is Lerner had Lambert as his first choice and he got his man.
  9. He was the best of that golden generation of our academy which produced Bannan, Clark, Albrighton, Baker and Weimann. Agreed. We can all hope he fulfills his promise. It sure would be nice for him to come good.
  10. If it got us enough money to actually try and win things again I would gladly go down to the RedBull Area.
  11. I am a Lambert & Lerner fan but I dont blame anyone for bailing out of Sundays game early. Depressing stuff.
  12. It's not a meaningless statistic. Someone says they don't know what KEA contributes. That shows them. Tackles. Two goals and an assist. Want more? Of course. We all want more. But to say he's contributed "nothing" is a gross misrepresentation of the facts. It's probably fair to say KEA has been our second best midfielder this season behind Delph who is an excellent player. Its more than fair, it is the truth. Our midfield is poor no doubt about it, but Sylla and Westwood should get far, far more stick than KEA. He had a bad season last year, we all know it. He is much improved this season.
  13. Aside from all this - what's the intended style of play? Once the project is truly taking shape what will it look like? As far as the fans know this could be it. I think people are frustrated that we can't seem to pass the ball to each other, and we struggle to create chances, especially at home. Who would be in the side if we had a comparable budget to, say, Southampton? I can answer that. Lambert does not have a style of play, or rather he is changeable. He was a tactical tinkerman at Norwich and he has been here. Since he has been at Villa he has played a possession game, long ball, pressing, standing off, 4-2-2-2, 4-2-4, 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-5-1, 5-3-2 and 3-5-2. He will continue to do the exact same changeable process going forward. If you dont like how Lambert has Villa playing right now then stick around, it will be different again in a while. Thats who he is, it is who he always has been.
