  1. No one's "cheering" anything, some people just aren't overreacting to a backup loan signing. As I said, I'm not over the moon about this but why are people being so hysterical? Based on? This is clearly a reaction to the Kozak injury. If the rest of the window's transfer activity is disappointing then that would've been the case regardless of whether we got Holt or not. Besides, I doubt Lerner or Faulkner told Lambert to go for Holt. There are many better options out there as a Kozak replacement. We do not need to bring in a thug of a player who cant make the starting 11 at Wigan. I agree that there are better options, but is signing Holt on loan as cover really something to get so upset about? (not referring to anyone in particular) For me I think it just shows where the club currently thinks we can compete. It shows how low our ambition is. If was on the back of a good midfield purchase then maybe I would be happy. But as our first business in the window, it smacks of being small time.

  3. At this point I think Lerner/Lambert and Faulkner are actually taking the piss.
  4. Well Richard did say we would have a melt down signing. I dont think he meant this kind though. Terrible news.
  5. There are not many clubs bigger than Villa. Shame Lambert & Lerner dont seem to realise that....
  6. Thanks, I knew someone would step up! Gotta love abit of ol' Mick Mick at Wolves was some fun times. Good derbies, likeable manager.
  7. Correct. It should be carved in Iron above the gate at Villa park. "Do no business with Spurs."
  8. Poor bloke. Was having a good first season as well
  9. Are you? yes i am It would be nice. Honestly a genuine quality signing after these years of constant cutbacks and penny pinching would be fantastic. Sadly I am utterly pessimistic. I think we will sign a lower league unknown, a past it premier league player (probably Hoolahan) and maybe a loan, probably from bloody spurs again. I hope your vision comes true over mine.
  10. "We need to get the maximum and January is always inflated Lerner is loaded I would look for £6 Million minimum." Hahahahahahaha!!!! Thats brilliant.
  11. I hope thats true. Hoolahan is **** dreadful I dont think he is dreadful but definitely an uninspired target imho. I figured we could rely on Norwich's bad will to get us out of it though
  12. Time to splash some cash Randy. I need to be excited and your money is the only way it will happen. 20M this window should cover it.
  13. My favourite is when the club is "braced" for a bid. Like with tekkers this summer. I am sure we were all holding on to furniture
  14. Even Dave "talk bollocks" Whelan said he would trade in the FA Cup for not being relegated last season. Its a nice addition to staying in the league for sure. But you cannot risk your main source of income for it.
  15. I do hope this one happens. I think we could all use a boost.
  16. Fair post. We have gone backwards since last season football wise no doubt. What happened to "We are Aston Villa, we are passing the ball!"? He can clearly get his teams playing well, baffling he doesnt recently.
  17. It seems to me so far: Mark Regan has an interview with Lambert. Asks leading questions about the importance of the FA cup Lambert had just had his 2nd choice CF who was hitting form out for the season with a broken leg. Feels a bit down and lets his guard drop. Gives honest answer. Media jump on honest answer and sensationalise it. AVFC go into damage limitation mode, Brian Doogan rings Mark Regan and has a massive go. Mark Regan is then very pissed off with AVFC so then decides to keep banging on about it to stick the knife in. Apparently Regan apologised to Lambert for the question and said it wasn't his intention to start this. regans "apology" is just that he is sorry he got grief for being such an awful journalist. " @theblarneyinfo I said I regretted asking it because what has happened to me since has been needless. No apology needed, I was doing my job. @Stay_Classy1976 @craiglilly7 Not at all. Any journalist would have run that story. I have no grudge. I regret asking the question of PL coz it resulted in my work being butchered as well as 3 ludicrous calls from the #avfc press officer. " oh and the kicker "@Maradona_AVFC10 I'm at #wba today so can't ask him." hardly surprising he wants to be there to support his team.

Dont forget McNulty and the awful Stuart James then piling on as they do their level best to damage the club. It has been an instructive past day or so. A useful reminder how how dreadful the press is.
  19. I hope this drives Lambert on. Me too. They have their knives out for our club. Piss on them.
  20. No more British/Irish dross please. If we are going to get a new manager lets get one who is tactically innovative. Bielsa would be the only one who would excite me. Mad as a hare but just brilliant.
  21. I don't give a shit what the national papers and people think, they weren't with us when we should have had a penalty at Wembley and they aren't with us now, we should stick together and stick two fingers up at them. Correct. The BBC were gleeful today. Sod em. I am happy to rally around the manager just to spite them.
  22. I was told to go and 'support somebody else' which is a bit different. To be clear I was not offended. Fans exchanging amusing pleasantries after a loss when tempers are high is normal stuff.
