    The bigger gamble still is having Faulkner / Lerner pick his replacement. One thing I am sure we can all agree on is they are more than capable of selecting someone far worse than Lambert.

    Yes but that doesn't mean the squad will look virtually the same next season. Mantis have you considered that it could look worse? It's very possible considering the situation with contracts. Nope, not at all. I haven't once considered that. Love your optimism

    Lambert says less. According to VT members Cowans said it will be less than last year. Lambert has also said he wants to get in some experience/quality. If you have less money and you are shopping more upmarket than I think less players seems a fair guess.

    I like to think of myself as an optimist but I think it is the logical conclusion. All evidence indicates we are now up for sale with no offers. Until we are sold (months,seasons,years) Lerner is going to cut back spending even further. This squad barely escaped relegation this season. Assuming we are shopping even cheaper than last season then it is going to be in for yet another run in. I think "done for" is about right to be honest.

    This would be the nightmare scenario. or a merger with Birmingham playing out of NEC. Arranged by PA but not as our new owner. That would be different and catastrophic. I would give up the game! Perfect. Birmingham Villa FC. Our new joint kit is all red naturally.

    I was an OGS man but boy did we dodge a bullet there. Not just his Cardiff freefall but after the Molde owners refused to outspend all the other teams for him again they did terribly last season. In summary I agree AVFCAM I know sod all about picking managers

    I still feel disappointed that both Hutton & Given would sooner give up on football than put in a transfer request. I suppose I understand it from a financial point of view but it is sad to see them not give a damn about playing.

    I hope Lambert gets a new contract. Laudrup has his teams play football I like to see no doubt, but he really has been on a bad run. Particularly when you consider how the Swans backed him.

    And with a first rate left back, possibly permanently. Still the lack of midfielders is disappointing. Ours are just poor, if Delph gets injured or returns to previous poor form then we are in a spot of bother.

    I found him to be a very classy backup keeper and a nice bloke. Mods can lock this if needed but some VT fans on twitter may want to wish him well.

    But it's being suggested you are open to a deal with other clubs. You just won't deal with Aston Villa. If you believe Sky Sports of course... Thats just that, suggested, nothing more, we're not selling to anyone and I belive that. Well good luck. Seems odd your club doesnt need any money to strengthen the squad but if Wes is apparently vital to your team then he should stay.

    It was about 18 and a bit million in the summer. Got a couple for Bannan. Assuming the Betram loan csts us a bit we are coming under our usual 20M a season from Lerner.

    Norwich have really embarrassed themselves over this. I guess they must be flush with more cash than I thought. Turning down so much money for a bomb squad player. If I was a Canaries fan I would be livid. Dont they have players they would like to buy with that money?

    Kind of relieved. Do we actually need Hoolahan ? Not particularly, we need a quality midfielder though. Instead we have added to our Pokemon collection of strikers and made a very good loan signing at left back. We have most definitely not splashed the cash though, sadly.
