  1. reminds me...philippines is the "selfie nation". this girl on my facebook dad died. She was taking selfies with her dead dads coffin. Was 4 photos. Was so wtf to see on fb. Got over 100 likes so well done her?
  2. cabaye average **** because he couldnt get in an oil-rich club. Just wow. Went missing in derbies? so is gabby a 100m striker now because he turns up in derbies? (probably variance more than anything, how many derbies did he play??) He was easily the best player in newcastle team by a mile and thats how he got his move to a oil-rich club. edit: ok then...why has it gone mad because zidane was paid 100k a week and now cabaye is? Do you not understand inflation? greater demand in countries leading to higher tv deals? You paying your ticket to go watch them play football? All contributing towards it. Who cares.
  3. right...even if it slightly skewed? (im not saying it is) who cares? What happens in your mind mono because we signed two defenders on transfer deadline? are we going to become broke because of it? We can no longer compete in the prem? Has it changed anythnig at all? i honestly dont get how it can make you so annoyed? lol
  4. Jesus thats a bad, seems to make RAWK level headed. compare that thread to one of our threads before the prem started and they would say the exact same to us. There was quite a lot predicting us to finish top 10+. some even saying like 7th/8th. The only difference is we get warning/banned if we make personal attacks that im guessing they dont which makes it a little nicer here.
  5. how is paying cabaye 100k a week "football gone mad"? Im getting really bored of the "football gone mad" comments due to transfer fees/wages. Its going to keep rising for the next 10+ years at least. Get used to it. I dont know if its gone "mad" because youre not used to them figures in your personal life, but from a business POV, it isnt that mad. bet you all was saying "football gone mad" when united paid for Ferdinand 10+ years back.
  6. Depends which way you want to look at it really. The money they have to spend is an insane amount to "maybe" get top 4 and youre very unlikely to stay there for very long. IIRC (i could be wrong), their netspend is close to the lowest in the division in recent years whilst still "challenging" for top 4. Think its difficult to call him anything other than a great businessman. Only have to look at plop to see the money you have to spend and still not get top 4. And united Also everybody is willing to do business with anyone (apart from plop/united), theyre not just going to say "no i dont want your money because your levy". Him playing hardball does nothing damaging for future deals (it possibly could even help given teams wont just automatically inflate prices thinking hes going to spunk money). Should note, i know nothing about business.
  7. Okore is injured and may not be back for a couple of months. At present we don't have any right sided cover for Richards in Llori we now do. Lescott and Clark will fight it out for left side. Senderos isn't wanted Crespo can cover all across the back line apparently. We have other defenders who Sherwood doesn't fancy but we can't get anyone to take them off our hands yet. For the first time in ages we actually have a pretty decent squad not just in numbers in quality. there won't be 5 central defenders on the bench probably 2 like normal!! After a cracking transfer window I was perplexed at people moaning but most just wanted more goals but congratulations you're the first to moan we have too many defenders! I fail to see the point of buying for the bench. I totally agree, imo, we should just hire 7 homeless people to stick on the bench and used the saved wages to upgrade the first 11. Because y'know..whats the point of a squad/bench.
  8. It starts and ends with Ed Woodward. Nothing really to do with LVG. It happened under Moyes aswell. Great at negotiating sponsorship deals...Awful at negotiating with players/agents/clubs. Isnt this the same guy who was negotiating with fake agent city fans for awhile? I should note: it isnt really their fault about DDG though. Real madrid were apparently low-balling all summer so it isnt really their fault its taken until the last day to get it done (well maybe get it done). United wanted that mess sorted as quick as possible i bet
  9. good comedy recommendation? i like IASIP, modern family, parks and rec, office, i.t crowd, peep show, south park. Usully dislike comedies which follow the pattern of: 1. Make some random comment slightly out of context 2. cut scene 3. Scene proves/dissproves said random comment. 4. repeat for the next 7 series So like, family guy, big bang and 99 brooklyn. No laughing track is a bonus
  10. Youre assuming the formation/style were looking to play has sanchez in it though. When everyone is back fit grealish/gil/adama might push sanchez out and westwood slot back in...like before. The reason why westwood might be playing further might be down to the lack of personal who can do it correctly at the moment rather than sanchez/gana pushing him forward. We dont really know what formation were lookin to play at the moment given a lot of the starting (assumed starters) midfield players have been unfit/not ready
  11. Im not asking because im doubting his ability ( i really have no idea how hes played recently)...but why is pulis letting lescott go? Dont really understand? iirc he was letting him go before they signed evans? If there was ever one position that pulis would know about(,?) that would be CB.
  12. Also have to remember all them performances was under lambert. Where no midfielder was able to enter the final third. Nobody was allowed to move. Just hope benteke gets the ball and creates something out of nothing. So that + with ligue 1 being softer league + different roles played...i think its pretty flawed to use stats to say who can play one role better than the other. or 'seem to' have someone who is better than someone else. Only one who can make that a pretty educated guess are the ones on the training pitch. Think it should just be left unknown until we see what happens in the future as to who is better at playing the more attacking MF role.
  13. That doesn't mean they won't produce good French born players. It just means they will struggle to keep them. exactly which is going to decrease the standard of the league as time goes on. When teams who just come up from the championship can probably offer onpar/more wages than top 6 in another league (im kind of guessing here), the standard of the leagues is going to be very different.
  14. Noway is Ligue 1 pretty close to the prem. According to dailyfail from 2014 (wages would have raised even more in the prem since then given TV money etc), England average wages is 2.3x more than Ligue 1. Good luck at attracting anywhere close to the standard of players when youre offering so little wages.
  15. not really that bothered about him only having scored 3 goals in 96. All about player roles and his role wasnt to get in the final third (apart from few games this season)
  16. just watched motd and jfc that was one of the worst punditry. cant believe im saying this but bring back shearer. Anything but that ever again
  17. who chooses the colours/design for away kits? One of the ugliest looking football tops i have ever seen (i know ours isnt good either)
  18. quo·ta·tion mark noun plural noun: quotation marks each of a set of punctuation marks, single (‘ ’) or double (“ ”), used either to mark the beginning and end of a title or quoted passage or to indicate that a word or phrase is regarded as slang or jargon or is being discussed rather than used within the sentence. lol
  19. Didnt know that existed but it is pretty much what i was thinking. u21. Pretty hard to find many players who is a starter in the first 11 for a top 10 team itw and doesnt look out of place what so ever. If you was to put a numerical value on current ability and for potential. Think sterling would be pretty close to #1. He is 100% top 3
  20. Kozak is not fast. Hes so so slow and its his biggest downfall. He couldnt even keep up with a lot of defenders in pre-season. He makes pretty dam good runs for a big fella but his pace lets him down. Happy for him to start. I actually think its really bad he didnt start against Bournemouth. Dont really understand why you wouldnt pick a player who is better than majority of others in pre-season. Thought it would send a "bad message" not starting him. But theres probably more reasons why he never behind the scenes
  21. These posts are so so dumb. How exactly is he stealing a living? Interested to hear your thoughts on this. ----- Also if youve ever made a personal attack on someone just because of football then you should have a hard look at yourself. (pretty much grow the **** up)
  22. no. hes a retard. the 99% of other fans are fine. If were going to start generalising all fans because of select few then literally EVERY fanbase is small time, retarded and pathetic.
  23. But Manchester City can afford it. Their owners are in this for the glory and £110m to them is a drop in the bucket, they clearly feel they can beat FFP in the courts so they are going for it. If those two signings see City establish themselves as a club who regularly makes it to the business end of the Champions League then it's mission accomplished. Im very much "who cares what people are buying X for". Some guy on the internet saying some multi-billionaires spending X amount is incredible? they did just sign the #1 youngster in the world and 1 other very very highly rated midfielder whos only going to get better. To me, given inflation+oil+prem money it isnt crazy.
