can somebody suggest to me how we have a head start on other teams which people keep suggesting? if player X is deemed good enough to join us and have actual ability to get us out of this mess. Why wouldnt he either wait for a better team in the prem to sign for or a newly promoted team next season? both latter options seems far greater in terms of £ earned for them. i personally think we dont have a headstart against upper/top/challenging championship sides

you are OVER OVER OVER OVER (i cant state this enough, very common myth with football fans) estimating how much a manager can out perform budget. To think hes not one of the greatest managers when hes getting paid 14mil+ is silly and to suggest "a lot can do it" is just plain wrong. (pretty sure hes highest paid manager? why wouldnt they appoint lambert for 2m per year if anyone can do it??) The higher in football you go, the smaller the "edges" become, which means you need to pay very big wages to managers to get that 1-5% of added equity to win the league that the manager can create. (which makes it even harder for the casual fan to realise where that added equity is coming from given its so small, but it is there) All i can suggest is, go find me quite a few managers at the top who have out performed budget on a consistent basis? Just not going to happen. Budget > manager. if a manager out peforms budget league position just by 1, hes considered a very very very good manager. over peforming like you said (spurs/liverpool) to win title on a consistent basis is pretty much impossible in this climate edit: please talk about long term of managers ability if you reply, instead of "rodgers got to 2nd once. therefore anyone can do it". aka variance double edit: literally no idea how klopp has got into your post? im pretty sure i could write paragraphs and paragraphs why benteke is not good enough for a top team. and those who try to counter my points only explain benteke for a lower team in a very short way that is easy to disprove for a top team. he should come back here though :(! im pretty sure..the only person here who has tried to prove me wrong is pieface / or offer an alternative . rest keep ignoring my posts and then say a few weeks later "why isnt benteke playing for X, why not klopp playing team around him" (although i think pieface is slowly agreeing with me )

And his decision making is surprisingly quite slow. However i do agree he can score goals out of nothing which are world class goals. But choosing a player whos strengths are only highlighted in the least optimal way of playing is not a good reason to play a striker. Hes just close to a perfect bench striker for any top team. (but for 32m lol??). And obv other guys pressing > benteke pressing people keep saying liverpool was a bad move for him. Who did you think he was going to sign for and be first choice? Liverpool was the perfect move for him to be able to show he can handle playing for a top team style and if he proves himself there, he can go onto greater things when he was about 26/27. He would have been good for moyes united though...shock he got fired for trying to spam 40 low+high crosses per game which wasnt enough. (low crosses byline crosses > high floaty crosses, and you prefer a striker whos quick/agile to get on the end of them)

am i the only one (before all this shit happened) thought gabby worked hard in training? Only way i assumed he earned his contract/length of stay in the team. (no i dont think being a "villa lad" had anything to do with it) i remember the physio saying he was too big and needed to lose muscle/fat or w/e a few years ago but thats a bit different. still prefer him to sinclair on the pitch though

Put it in simple terms....LVG (currently for united) plays possession football so defence isn't exploited....Pep has always played possession football football for attacking / high press (he makes sure the team is set up for high press up the pitch before an attack has started (aka gegenpressing) which is where the boring part comes into it ) which leaves defence "exposed" (its not even exposed. But apparently people can't realise between risk/reward so I'm going to call it exposed) Just lol at thinking if pep was instead of LVG at start of season they would have that horrible attack records which has been posted through out the season

If you think barca/BM pep is similar to LVG united, you have to below par intelligence. Its the most oppisate style of play with possession type football to exist at the moment.
