  1. Why isn't anyone puzzled that Roberto Martinez was high on the shortlist? I think we're scrapping at the bottom of the barrel
  2. From the General's post, I get the impression they're not really aiming big and are just trying to find someone who's most 'suited' for the job.
  3. Serious OnlyOne you do seem criticise the board at any given opportunity I bet you don't even believe what youve just typed there in regards to McLeish. If you're so confident then place your life savings on betfair then.
  4. I'm wary of the board's judgement, so it wouldn't surprise me if Alex McLeish became the next manager. If anyone believes he won't then you can make free money on Betfair. You can place a lay bet on quite low odds.
  5. Fulham must envy our uber management search skills.
  6. And that's why we've been in a trophy drought for 15 years. Fans thinking someone like Coyle is the way forward.
  7. Why do people think we'll be getting managers without Premier League experience? I don't think the board will ever go that path because they like to play it safe.
  8. We should be aiming for Slaven Bilic like last time. The board are gutless if they want another old manager with PL experience.
  9. The board are too soft for my liking. I mean what's this about sending letters to ask the club for permission of speaking to the manager? Are we in the 1950's or something? Dave Whelan used this soft approach to his advantage and made our club a laughing stock, while Wigan are getting praise with possible higher ticket sales etc. where as our potential candiates, sponsors etc will be more wary. They have to come out of the top all this or else they would prove the media right. At the moment, I can't see how Randy is gonna turn this around. I mean the statement on the OS clearly states Roberto's qualities as a young and aspirational manager ensured him of a position high on our short list new managers. That's not really hopeful is it? You mean they're gonna interview someone lower than him? The current names floating around would make you think we were in the Championship. :? Some people need to step out of the Randy love nest and think outside the box. It's not pretty at the moment.
  10. It's already a full circle. Hughes is favourite again.
  11. bookies odds mean nothing please mods a sticky would be nice for this Betfair is an exchange, not a bookie.
  12. The poll is outdated yet again. Why is it there's no feature to reset the poll? It would be better than making a new thread each time.
  13. I'm reading that some other fans think we're no bigger than Wigan. Honestly, what planet are they on?
  14. In the meantime, I'll link you all to a bunch of morons: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=599579
  15. It seems the general public are buying we were turned down by Martinez and praised how well Dave Whelan handled the situation with his strong relationship. No praises about our 'professionalism', but instead we've now labelled as a laughing stock and a nothing club. Well done board. Why not keep us in the dark further and leave the media to embarass us some more. That's really gonna make the list of supposely good candidates take us seriously. The way they've gone about this is all wrong to be honest. They haven't got a clue on how the football world works.
  16. http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/aston-villa-fc/2011/06/10/swains-take-on-martinezs-villa-snub/ Although it's bullshit, it's not exactly helping our image is it? People will buy into it and it could affect our sponsors, sales etc. This isn't really professionalism by the board. It's more alienation imo. It would pay off if we were kept in the dark to reveal a brilliant manager. But if it's someone like Hughes, the front running from the start, one of the most predictable and uninspring managers to date, then it would be a shambles. We won't look like we've came out of roses at all.
  17. Taking a whole month to hire Hughes would be an embarassment after what's been going on to be fair. Not only would it prove to the media that we're a midtable team, but Hughes himself has shown his inability to use money when there's loads given and he has an agent that could leave us problems in the future. No thanks.
  18. Are we still limiting ourselves to Premier League experience managers? If so, I'm sure we're running out of options.
  19. How embarassing that we're getting highlights that Martinez has turned us down. How exactly is Randy doing it in a professional manner when we're now getting laughed at? If it's Hughes after all this time consuming crap, then they're totally out of their depth. I don't want Hughes anywhere near our club. He'll be off like a shot once his greedy agent whispers in his ear that there's a better offer flying around. He ain't even that good anyway. Got found out at City when he didn't know what to do with the money and spent it on mainly rubbish. He won't take us forward. Come on Moyes!
  20. Predicting the next Villa manager has got to be one of the hardest things ever. No one has a clue on Betfair judging by the current odds.
  21. Louis van Gaal and Carlo Ancelotti would be the top 2 to cause a positive meltdown. I honestly can't see it being anyone else of that quality because the others are employed. Even listing those 2 names is stretching it quite alot to be fair.
  22. I would have thought Hiddink was a dead cert at Chelsea.
  23. If you stopped jizzing over McClaren, she may take you back.
  24. This site seems more popular and crazy that's for sure.
