  1. You remember when I said I wouldn't be surprised if the board hired him? It's the fact they have no football knowledge between them, Roberto Martienz was HIGH on the shortlist and Randy's reputation at the Browns of appointments. I really didn't get the blindness from some fans. They clearly shouldn't be making these decisions in the first place.
  2. I don't think the board have made the effort at all. They don't give a shit and are clearly not fans. This isn't for the good of the club at all. It's just Randy's way of clawing the money back by choosing the cheap option when he realised we probably won't break top 4 (which he was after due to the Champions League money). And before anyone says Randy showed ambition when he bought Bent. For the 100000000th time, he bought him to protect his investment. He needs the 40m + backing from the Premier League so he doesn't need to dig deep in his pockets. Understand where I'm coming from now?
  3. The interviews that are OFFICIAL: Martinez - Turned us down McLeish - We're interviewing him I don't think there's been anyone else! I mean if there was why would the publically state we're interviewing McLeish but not the others? Again, they've had 2 months to prepare for this. What is going on?
  4. So what we officially know is Martinez turned the interview down and we're now interviewing McLeish? The board are even more incompetent than I first thought. They've had 2 months to prepare for this, yet Fulham managed to bag Jol within less 7 days of preparation.
  5. That's because there's no postives and you're just kidding yourself.
  6. It still doesn't make sense if we're not interested in him then why would the General go out of his way and defend him with desperate points? There's definitely a strong consideration because I sincerly doubt the General would even bother defending McLeish if we didn't approach him.
  7. Well our fans are doing a good job of acting like Barcode fans, so it all fits. Can't help yourself can you? "It's all the fans fault...blah blah" Randy has a bad reputation of making the wrong appointments at the Browns as well. I guess they're all bad as well aren't they? But don't worry, I'm sure his buddy Paul Faulkner will make it all better. Oh wait. It really won't.
  8. One of the main things that would be inexcusable is the fact we turned down Rafa (a free agent) and we would pay 5m to bring in McLeish. Another main thing is the fact Hughes has done exactly the same thing, yet we're gonna turn him down? There's no logic. The board are making Mike Ashley look good.
  9. link How come Bilbao are going after bigger fish than us??? Do you really have to answer that? steaknchips the way you've been going you would think we've had football people upstairs and they've been right on the phone to Deschamps, Rijkaard etc. It's not gonna happen because the board haven't got a clue.
  10. What we have is a despicable club airing their laundry in public view (Birmingham, that is - not villa). The only other club to go public was Wigan - because that was always going to look good for them. Why does that imply that Martinez and McLeish are the ONLY managers they have approached? Have a little faith. The fact we've even approached McLeish is the more reason not to have faith.
  11. The board are hypocrites. Hughes resigns - The board are offended McLeish resigns - Let's talk to the relegation man!
  12. http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/aston-villa-fc/aston-villa-news/2011/06/14/aston-villa-board-will-talk-to-alex-mcleish-insisting-he-is-a-free-agent-97319-28872018/
  13. :!: Someone else said something similar earlier on today. His name escapes me. It's not looking good at all. It just amazes me the board have had since Mid-April to come with the next manager and they hire McLiesh? It makes no sense. It's the total opposite of Houllier's philosophy.
  14. I think people need to take a break from Twitter. The rumours about Moyes isn't doing anyone any good.
  15. Is Neil Moxley a Villa fan? Or just some emo journalist?
  16. Moyes isn't coming to Villa. Can we please move on from him?
  17. You're right, we're not much of a stepping stone and the fans who believe it are clueless. We still don't know how much transfer funds Lerner is willing to give out (will be nowhere near Chelsea/Man City or possibly even Tottenham/Liverpool), but what we do know is we have a mess of a squad, a massive wage bill that still needs to be addressed and we've just announced a massive loss this year. Why are on earth would Moyes come to us when he has a stable squad that can beat any team on their day? Get it over Villa, we're in the shit at the moment due to MON's rubbish legacy and it should come to no surprise we'll hire someone uninspring that will help Randy's cashflow.
  18. Although I think you're over the top, he hasn't helped matters has he? This whole stone age silent interview process is becoming a non-stop nightmare for us fans. It's just one bad news after another flying around. Has anyone presented Randy his Gentleman Medal yet? I'm sure some of the fans on here who are 'proud' to see our club being dragged through the mud would love to be the first in line to present it to him.
  19. I told you all I wouldn't be surprised if they hired someone like him. We're now getting people scared and panicing yet again, where as I'm just indifferent. The cracks have already been there. The fact Roberto Martinez was high on their list has proven to me they may go lower to find a man someone as awful as him.
  20. The term "high on the shortlist" is media driven. You/we have absolutely no proof whatsoever that this is actually the case, other than Villa asked to talk to him as part of the process. There is no proof that he would have been offered the position. I do have proof because it's on the official site from the statement. You have proof that he was high on the shortlist? I really want to see that, the statement on the OS don't say nothing about Martinez being high on the shortlist. Roberto's qualities as a young and aspirational manager ensured him of a position high on our short list of potential new managers.

  22. The porto fans probably said that when they appointed Mourinho and a few fans baulked at Ron Saunders. Some say Martinez has great Potential and is very well thought of. I don't know whether he is or is'nt but it's always a gamble, its equally a gamble with a Big Name in as much as soon as their stock rises they are off to bigger bucks territory. so i guess, you are buggered if you do and buggered if you don't. Mourinho did a much better job before he came to Porto.
