I think one of the main reasons why Randy wanted to hire McLeish was because he didn't want to invest much money anymore and expects him to bring out the best of Ireland, Warnock, Beye etc. I think that's one of the reasons surely...Just you watch. Also, do people still honestly think buying Bent (when we were in the bottom 3) was still ambition by Randy? Again, he used the Milner money (mostly) to protect the money he gets from the Premier League. I still stand by my theory that it was a panic buy and nothing more.

At least we know now that the 5 year plan is to hire Alex McLeish. Woohoo.

The fact is the board have announced to the entire world they're gonna interview McLeish. I seriously doubt other canidates will be interested if they put McLeish before themselves. We have to face reality that we're gonna get McLeish. But that doesn't mean we have to like it. I hope we'll drive the yanks out and send Faulkner back to his dead end job.

I doubt it would have made a difference. Randy is a right piece of work when it comes to appointments. The Browns fans despise him for it. I remember reading one piece where a coach got sacked, no else would touch him with a barge pole, the press ask Randy if he's interested in him (which he didn't know about) and he hires him about 2 days later. His decisions are awful.

And this is based on what? It's based on the fact he's a shit manager. He had superior resources than Wigan and Wolves and played worst defensive football, yet still got relegated. Our squad still contains mostly MON's players. I doubt he'll use players like Albrighton, Clark etc. Apart from an odd couple of players, the rest arent' really quality to help him out. You honestly think he'll do better than 10th. Think again. The league is getting stronger each season where lower teams are getting closer to higher teams.

The graffiti is about as classy as the board taking McLeish seriously. At least the graffiti can be washed away in an hour or so.

Sorry I disagree, he had money to spend, managers have philosophies, they don't regularly change. Look at Martinez, he's hardly got world beaters, arguably no better than Blues but he tried to get them playing football, successfully? debatable, he kept them up but that's it. However he sticks to his principles and plays his game. I struggle to think of many managers who change their styles. Whatever clubs, it's usually all the same, working what they know best. There is no way someone like McLeish would ever get us playing good football, just not going to happen. It'll be disciplined, organised, hard working, defensive, direct counter attack and about nicking games. As you know, I'm quite positive and I love what Randy has done for the club but 'he played shit football because he didn't have players/money' never washes for me because it's simply rarely ever true and if it were true, then you're appointing the wrong man, because if you want to play good football, then you appoint a manager who has regularly tried to play that way for a set amount of years and who knows how to be successful doing that, not give it to someone who has never tried or been successful playing good, exciting football. We might do okay under McLeish because we have a decent team and with Bent in the team, he'll score loads and we will most likely be more organised, keep clean sheets and nick games, so we could finish about 8th-10th at highest but the sad thing is, that will be the highest we'll go and what's worse is the fact it'll be mid-table football, in a very dull way. No different than appointing Pulis or Allardyce for me, who I both hate with a passion. You still think the reason why Randy bought bent was ambition? Or was it because he realised his 40m + backing from the PL was in danger and had to do something about it quick by using Milner's money plus a little of his own.

Doubt it. All we know officially is that Martinez turned down the interview and we're now interviewing McLeish. Two months they've had to prepare for this. Yet Fulham mananged to bag Jol within 7 days. They need to GTFO and allow a person who knows about football to take full control.

This is AVFC, not (Randy) RFC. He's never been part of any success here (trophies). If this is the best appointment he can do, I would rather him pack his bags and gamble on another chairman.

Seriously though, I don't think Randy has any idea how unpopular this appointment really is and I'm hoping there's an off chance General will catch it and pass it on straight away. Actually that's a good point about MON. Although I don't rate him as a manager and was glad to see the back of him, I do wonder what really went on behind closed doors when he walked out. I actually think it was the board who **** up big time and they were lucky enough that MON kept quiet throughout the whole mess.
