I think it really is possible that McLeish could relegate us this season if we're going to keep playing like this. What has the board done to our club. :cry:

N'Zogbia does seem to be like a flop. The fitness level excuse is dead now. Our midfield is really shit without NRC, Downing and Young in team.

Do people still believe we'll finish top 10 this season? Relegation battle on the cards again.

Nope, I still don't buy Heskey as a midfield player. He is bad enough in his main role. I have no idea what his purpose is tbh. You just know if we had Xavi in the team McLeish would still favour Heskey in the CM position. I mean he's actually very lucky to be working with attacking players compared to the former club, yet he still doesn't know how to get goals. How many chances has Bent had? About 3 at most? We have creativity players on the bench and don't use them effectively.

its the effect his presence has on the way we play though mate... lob balls up to Heskey and more often than not he will bring it down and hold it up or get a head on it... it aint gonna get us goals It got us 3 against Blackburn..... Those 3 goals are debatable. The first goal was easy for Gabby because he was against an OAP. The second goal must be rarer than say Wigan winning the league. How often do you see Heskey score OUTSIDE the box? The third goal was extremely lucky because Petrov was intended to shoot but somehow the ball bounced to Bent. He won't see service like that being common at all. And it was Blackburn. One of the shittest defensive teams around with a head coach as manager. We were lucky to avoid their new CB partnership of Dann/Samba. We won't score many (if at all) when we face them again.

Hutton didn't look fit either when he played for Scotland. How utterly predictable Heskey gets the nod in midfield again. It's like we don't even to create chances and would settle for another boring 0-0 draw. McLeish has no bottle and it's no wonder he has 3 relegations.

We look so clueless of playing the ball forward nevermind scoring. Either 0-0 or 1-0.

Doesn't help we have dumbo Collins as part of the duo who was on the Wales bench, which must have been embarassing. All what's required is Clark and Dunne in the middle and we've basically got some technical steel in central defence with Given pulling off the hollywood saves.

So where's our NRC and Downing replacements? We still have 20m left over from selling Downing.

What's wrong with him? He's solid defenisvely, can burst forward and score an odd couple of goals too. He's also younger than Luke Young and will probably be on less wages. Seems sensible at 3m.

Houllier needed to be backed heavily in the window for us to avoid relegation. And he still was finding it difficult with Downing, Young and Bent in our team. All because he couldn't be bothered to fix our defence. If he had to work with the current squad we have now, relegation would have been on the cards again for sure. At least McLeish has sorted out our defence problems and we don't look to be leaking too many goals. Still early days yet mind. I mean Given was the one who gave us the clean sheet against Fulham. Dunne and Collins did nothing special in that game. McLeish for me considering the work conditions he has to work under.

It doesn't take a rocket science to work out that Bent's attitude looks downbeat from last season. McLeish even said he was frustrated from the lack of service he got in the Wolves game.

What I don't get is why are some of the fans happy that we've gotten rid of Makoun and have no issue with Ireland still being in our team? Ever since the guy has put the Villa shirt on literally everything has gone to shit. His debut was 6-0 against Newcastle and his next game was 2-3 Rapid Vienna. He is a very lazy player who doesn't backtrack leaving plenty of space for the opponents to riot our midfield. Worst of all he must be on double or triple the wages than Makoun and has contributed even less. Ireland also hasn't had a good word to say about the club (did everyone forget the shit he came out with when he went to Newcastle on loan), where as Makoun has left quitely and profesionally. But yet we've got fans on here (like literally) happy that his left over Ireland. Makes no logical sense.

Too late. We've already sent on him loan while we're still stuck with the deadwood since the dawn of time.

Great post. I think it's about time fans woke up with regards to the board. They're treating us like mugs. The fact the general has gone AWOL on Villa sites, but has the time to speak to students on facebook should tell you something. So much for being busy with his job. The fans who still go in that thread and suck up to him when he clearly doesn't give a shit about what anyone thinks now is the most embarassing part. Have some **** dignity.

Top 8 is unrealistic even if we bought 2 players. But if we did, I'd say the top 2 aspects we should focus on is a defensive midfielder to protect the defence and to close space so opponents don't find it easy to jog through our midfield and a top notch supply line for Bent. We'll have to hope Herd can do a very good job at RB because if rumours are true that Hutton is 6m, then the board should stick to their guns and not be ripped off. If we do pay that much for him, I can't see how we've progressed financially in the window since MON and it would make the board look clueless for the umpteeth time.

6 of starting 11 players have gone since the last game we won against Liverpool and we have only replaced 2. That's poor no matter how many Randy loyalists try to paint a pretty picture.

So that's 19 players we've let go and only brought in 2? At least we're not Everton according to some on here! The ****?

Have they got a poacher? I don't think they have. Can you just imagine players like Suarez and Downing feeding him balls? It would be a question on how many goals they score. They seem to be better without Carroll tbh.

Liverpool could easily afford Bent with the amount of money they've been spending and I wouldn't blame Bent to jump ship so he can get service from Downing and a club that's willing to be respectful. I'm sure Randy's eyes will light up $_$ whenLiverpool offer him a amount he can't refuse like it happens with every player we sell under him and we would be lucky to see 25% of the money reinvested into the squad. Oh, and expect kids to be sold next season if any of them come good. Randy loves bringing us down so he can get his hands on $$$$$$.
