  1. McLeish seems to be the master at saying one thing then doing the opposite either he's a complete and utter fool a bullshitter or just stupid Ive said it before He raves on about Ireland's form yet never picks him He raves on about sorting the defence out he never has He raves on about Darren Bent not getting enough service yet he keeps using him incorrectly as some kind of targetman He raves on about getting the best out of Nzogbia yet keeps on getting the team to play dull negative anti football all the time ive very rarely seen the ball played into his feet always over his head same goes for Bannan He raves on about Alan Hutton hitting peak fitness and being a revelation second only to the coming of christ yet we can all see that he's utter gash All thats missing is him saying they are an honest bunch of lads. Notice the pattern here? We really do have a tool in charge of the football club Yeah he lies alot. The biggest one being he'll give us positive football but it's the same football he has been using at Rangers and SHA. Pure anti football
  2. Heskey coming on had a positive impact on the utter turd that was being dished up. At least we started shooting. If you cant see that, you either: havent a clue what your talking about when it comes to football. or hate Heskey so much you refuse to acknowledge anything positive about the man - which is a bit childish imo. Oh yeah, it was so positive that we still managed to lose and not do a great deal alot. It's not like his presence has been great anyway or did you forget the last 2 games before it where we didn't score and hardly created anything? Anyone with football knowledge would know you need a side to create more chances and Heskey dosen't offer that, especially the position he is playing at. First you criticise Bent and then you praise Heskey. What is wrong with you?
  3. I don't think I've seen this mentioned anywhere so I'm gonna bring it up. What is the deal with AM and Ireland? I mean he keeps hyping him how he'll find his 'world class' form again, but rarely ever plays him. But let's forget that for a second. Have you noticed how diabolical he is at picking him? Here's a good example. We're 3-1 up against Norwich right? So all what's required now is composure of the ball and being more defensive. But then around 15 mins left to play he takes off Petrov for Ireland. And guess what? He cost us a goal because he couldn't defend the cross that led up to the goal. We could have easily thrown away 2 points there, but luckily we got away with that terrible judgement. Now here's where it really gets annoying. We're 2-0 down against Spurs right. So the minimum thing you would expect him to at the beginning of the second half is bring more attacking players on the pitch. But he doesn't. Okay, he brings Bannan on the 63rd minute (still disgraceful though), yet he doesn't bother bringing on Ireland at all, but leaves Petrov AND Heskey for the entire match. And just recently, just think it couldn't get any worse it does. We're 0-1 down at home where AM has got to make an impression infront of 40k fans in the stadium. Well, he brings on Petrov firstly which is stupid enough. But when Jenas slipped over the invisible banana skin that knocked him out for the rest of the season, the first thing AM's assistant (Grant or someone like that) did was shout HESKEY, HESKEY. What on earth? Why? He isn't going to provide the killer pass or score goals. And he does make a big massive **** up at the end where his laughable shot goes out for a throwing, where there's no intent of using Ireland at all when we need to pass better and **** attack.
  4. The biggest thing I can't stand in football is not the results or performances. It's when managers throw away the towel before the match has begun. What is the point? Nothing good comes out of it. It just causes more pressue after and it backfires. MON did it in Moscow and then the season went downhill. Houllier did it in Eastlands and it got very ugly when he lost the 2 games after. Now McLeish has done it recently at White Hart Lane and he is following the same fate. But the difference is MON and Houllier had some rather annoying excuses. MON's was basically to focus top 4 and Houllier's was to focus staying in the league. Wtf was McLeish's excuse? To keep the goal difference down? What a laughable joke.
  5. But with Houllier we'll probably be safe in the Premier League, have us play good football, bring out the best of the kids and get rid of the troublemakers who's contracts are running low. Surely you would want all that back at the expense of Houllier? I mean we can't be fussy. It's all wishful thinking anyway. It's a lesson learnt (for me anyway) the grass isn't always greener on the other side. And after that saying that, if the board did get rid of McLeish, they could get someone even worse like Grant. I just don't know anymore. I'm really hopeful one day Randy will sell. Not because he isn't splashing the cash and I'd hate to see him give any more money to AM who'll just waste it. No, it's because he is clearly out of his depth when it comes to Sport and will probably ruin us if he remains here for a few more years.
  6. I too miss Houllier. **** hell. I was so wrapped up on his negatives last season. At least with him there was potenial. He knew there was troublemakers and had a plan to bring us into modern football. He was just so frustrating at times. With McLeish though there's no positives. He hasn't brought us back to the stone age, he has brought us even further backwards to the dark age where there's just no hope for anything. We don't play for the win, we don't play football, we don't have ambition, we won't show up against the big teams and we're looking over our shoulders.
  7. Randy could sack AM this season. Houllier didn't get sacked because to be fair we didn't know what he would be like with relegation battles. I guess that was worth taking the risk and it paid off. With AM though we know what exactly he is like with relegation battles. Randy wouldn't want to jepodize over 50 million of his money. It's not just that though. If we're relegated through AM he would lose the entire Villa fanbase. No one would forgive him when the warning signs were there all the way back to June. He still has the chance to rectify it, but the longer he leaves it the worse it's gonna get. It was a dumb move regardless. It wasn't worth taking the risk at all. The odds were against him from the start, but sadly his ego of being the Villa owner and thinking he knows best got the better of him.
  8. I think he has been given a fair chance. When he was hired the fans were willing to give him a chance, he has had a pre-season, he was given 17m to spend of his choosing, Gabby is on the form of his life, he can work with one of the best poachers in the league, no real injury crisis and most of all he can work with better players than his former club. But instead we've seen most of the money pissed away, he is not using the system to bring out one of the best goal scorer in the league, he is relying on Gabby to do everything by himself, he uses 5 or 6 defenders with no injury crisis, he uses Heskey in midfield while sending Makoun and Gardner on loan, he still doesn't know what's the best formation in the midfield despite having a pre season, he hasn't managed to fix the defence when he said he would, 3 wins out of 14 in a generous set of opening fixtures and worst of all he is doing worse than he did at SHA despite having better tools at his disposal. The fans have been very patient. Extremely patient in fact. But 3 months of this shit has gone on long enough. He has lost the support and now it's a question of when he'll piss off.
  9. McLeish isn't worthy of being compared to Mick Mccarthy, nevermind Mourinho. Steve Kean is more his level of comparison.
  10. This manager has left us with a load of shit hasn't he? Let's hope he'll take them off us next month.
  11. I've just had a scary thought. If he does relegate us I wonder if the board will stick with him in the Championship due to his 'excellent' promotion record. That surely can't happen can it? Can you imagine how bad the atmosphere would be at that point?
  12. That's the most troubling thing. If he was sacked we would have trust the board's ability in getting the next manager right. And we all know they are utter hopeless in that aspect.
  13. This quote really takes the biscuit. One day? We defeated them at their ground just 2 years ago. word removed.
  14. Other fans and the media thought we were just being bitter of where he came from. But now they're catching on what he's really about. The pressure is well and truly on now for the manager and board.
  15. Good. The mans a total waste of time in this current set-up. Partly due to the set -up and partly due to his lack of ability. Behave. He showed last season that given the right set up he can score goals for fun. If you think Bent leaving is good then you're absolutely barking mad. Yes, but its quite clear that the right set up for Bent isn't going to happen. He also seems unwilling/unable to adapt to the system. Why should he? He's scored 143 PL goals doing what he does and playing how he plays. Its AM who should change his tactics to accomadate Bent...not the other way round. The way he plays has worked everywhere else. Im not disputing that Wiggy. The point is the two don't work and both seem unwilling or unable to adapt for various reasons. Whether its Mcliesh who should go or not, are they really gonna sack him. No of course not - and while weve got Mcliesh, Bent appears useless The daft thing is - all hes gotta do is look half interested for his 70k a week and Id feel sorry for him too. For that kind of money, for me, you should be doing exactly what the boss tells you to do with passion and a smile on your face - whether you agree with it or not. IMO, you dont take ya bat home on 70 quid a week - nevermind 70k. He does look interested though. He drops deep to try and keep possession of the ball. Most of the time though he has to try and win aerial battles against players like Vidic. It's complete madness. And did you see his reaction when Heskey tried that shot that went out for a throwing? Why wasn't he passed the ball? It's like the players are instructed of shooting outside the box. I feel sorry for him.
  16. Or we could sell Bent, and give the money to the manager to build his own side, something he has clearly not had the chance to do yet. Managers need to be given time to build and shape their own squad and team. McLeish has as yet had no such chance. If the owner both rates and backs the manager, that is what should happen. If the owner seeks to change the manager soon (again) it will be another sign of shockingly inept ownership. They've only just bought him in, and have not yet 'backed' him in any meaningful way. It is for these reasons that I'd be shocked if he goes anywhere anytime soon. I strong disagree with this. McLeish has already been given 17m of his choosing and most of that was wasted on rubbish. It'll just be another MON legacy full of average players who have an attitude problem if he was given any more money.
  17. Wanting rid of Bent is madness. He has the fewest touches out of any player this season and still has 5 goals. If the tactics were playing to his strengths he would have a minimum of 10 goals now. Makes me pissed off that there is a massive chance he'll be gone this January. Why would he want to stay here if nothing is being done? All the stuff McLeish has said has never been reflected on the pitch.
  18. Good. The mans a total waste of time in this current set-up. Partly due to the set -up and partly due to his lack of ability. Then we'll revert back to the old ways where no one will be in the box.
  19. Did anyone see how unhappy he was when he saw the dross AM served up? SAF must have been laughing how easy it was into tricking him.
  20. Also has anyone read this: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/dec/06/aston-villa-darren-bent-alex-mcleish?newsfeed=true Didn't he say something exactly the same 3 months ago? Wtf has he been doing since then?
  21. I'll tell you what if AM somehow manages to keep us up and the board insist of keeping him here for another season then the ST sales will be shambolic. It's not going to be like this season where the fanbase were willing to give him a chance and see what he could do. They know what he is about now and will keep away.
  22. He'll hand his transfer request next month. Clearly doesn't look happy here now. Liverpool are desperate for a poacher and will tap him up. The board will sell him (or exchange him for Carroll that will suit McLeish) and they'll come out saying it was ffor the best like they did with Downing.
  23. Voted no. How can he be making us play worse than SHA with better players to work with? And he has pissed away alot of the money that was given to him in the summer. I wouldn't trust him in the January window.
  24. How can anyone defend that stat? Let's remind ourselves we played Newcastle at home. Also, this goes to show that McLeish's tactics not only fail, but our defence are useless too. The only strong aspect in our team is Given and it shows. Yet again he has saved us from a defeat more times than our defence ever wish they could. Cue all the UNBEATEN run bollocks again without realising that performances like this are relegation form and we will be punished in the entire season if this keeps up.
  25. How on earth is this his fault? Dunne's fault for the goal. It's his tactics. We can't win like this. Newcastle was bound to score with the amount of chances they had.
