I don't agree with PB. If McLiesh is allowed to set up his team at this club we will eventually get relegated. Look what happened with SHA. Eventually they got relegated with his team and he spent a fair bit as well. Look what happened at Rangers when they gave him time to build over there. They got 3rd and that's like a relegation for them. I would rather he don't bring his own players in. I don't want to see someone like Zigic as a replacement from Bent. At least that way when he does eventually leave we won't be damaged by his legacy. We're still suffering by MON's legacy and McLeish will be 10x worse. Think about it.

It's normally McLeish who puts the shackles on.

Walker was fantastic at going forward though. Hutton? Laughable at best.

Id add missed chances to that. No ones doubting his goalscoring ability. But its worthless in this team almost, because we dont use it. As a result, he becomes worthless. What exactly have we done in the last 3 games without him? We've managed to score 1 goal in 3 games without really even testing the goalkeeper. We still look hopeless at defending setpieces and clueless in the final third. We would be worse off without Bent. Who exactly would you want as his replacement anyway? Don't forget we'll have to trust McLeish with the money and I doubt he'll have alot to spend.

Why does it feel like we've had him since Villa began in 1874? Why do we insist of reducing the wage bill by selling our best players, but make no effort of trying to flog him who's undeservedly one of our highest earners? It would truly be it for me if we gave him an extended contract.

Yes. The board and McLeish made a massive **** up with Jenas. Will they face up to their responsibility? Nope. It's the club what gets punished. Us fans.

He's our highest joint goal scorer and this is a combination of bad form, missing games and lack of service. Not bad eh?

This question is to the people who think selling Bent is a good idea. If we sell Bent where are the goals gonna come from? Would you trust McLeish to spend the money wisely? Or are you happy we're balancing the books to cater for Hutton and the injured Jenas?

Downing was a rumour too. People said the picture was fake. Moments later he joined the club. The chances of Bent leaving this window is very high. There's just too many points such as the board have a reputation of selling our best players, Bent himself who never settles at a club, McLeish can't do much with him and Liverpool needing a poacher. Let's put it this way. It would be a shock if Bent remained here for the entire season. It's not a shock to see our geninue quality players leave anymore.

It wasn't just the football style. It was the players. They were simply not good enough. MON was rather good at getting average players playing above their weight, but it still wasn't enough.

More like he wanted to protect his PL investment. He'll see this as a good opportunity to sell Bent now. We look reasonably safe compared to last season so Randy won't hesistate of trying to get his money back from him. And I have no idea why people think selling Bent would be the biggest doom and gloom. That was when Randy hired McLeish. Throw in the fact he sold Downing (our best player) as well when Spurs managed to keep Modric (their best player) despite Chelsea offering 40m. Selling Bent is just the norm now. It won't end. Any player, I mean any of our youngsters who shine will just become a goldmine in Randy's eyes and he'll keep on selling. He has no ambition at this club anymore. He can't even be arsed to **** go.

Does anyone have faith in the board that they'll be able to keep Bent this window coming? I'd like to see their reasons. It would be interesting indeed.

Going from vomit inducing football to subpar football isn't worth getting excited about I agree. Oh wow, we can keep the ball for more than 5 seconds, it's a shame we still can't do anything with it in the final third. Hurrah for a 0-0 cup victory.

What was the point of buying Bent and then hiring a manager who has no idea how to use a poacher? Again, the board haven't done their research when they made this appointment. It would be fantastic if we could take them in a room and give them legitmate reasons why he was a bad idea. They would be stuck for words in seconds. Just a shambles at the top where they're not mentally fit to run this club.

Well all you've got to look at is what he's done when he's had a squad of his players playing his way. That's what's so depressing. It's not like he just needs to get the right players in and then we'll be fine. Odds are that when he's molded (or should I say destroyed) into what he wants it to be then we'll be just as bad if not WORSE! Why did the board think hiring McLeish would help our academy long term? Did they even do their research?

We won't try to play against Chelsea. He'll just tell the players to save their energy for the Swansea game. Watch us be a major pushover again.
