  1. It works both ways. Apparantly we're also not allowed to be positive about the future under Randy's ownership or under McLeish's management. If we dont join in and cry onto our keyboards, we get told that we're 'clueless' or have our heads in the sand. Name the positives about the future of McLeish's management. I'm actually interested to see any legitmate points.
  2. Actually I was. I've been against Randy more so than alot of fans on here. I seem to recall I had ALOT of stick that Randy was still the 'best owner ever' and when he hired McLeish, everyone has sort of gone on my side. The way he allowed MON to spend silly money and gave those terrible players high wages was unbelieveable. He didn't think it through at all and he's crippled us greatly. Instead of facing his responability, he's going **** this I want all my money back leaving us even in worse shape than Ellis' last years. He can never get the biggest decision right and for that reason he isn't good enough to run any sport businesses. Can you explain why he hired McLeish? Nahhh.
  3. You haven't got a clue. We don't need an owner spending loads of money. It's actually annoying seeing money pissed up and the other club having the better deal. All we need is an owner who can idenitfy a quality manager, knows how how to structure the wage bill so we're not in debt and allow him to grow our scout system. Look at Newcastle. Haven't spent much and have so much quality.
  4. I believe they have just sacked their manager, maybe McLeish could take over. I think there's going to be a major upset in the FA Cup. Bristol Rovers 1 - 2 Aston Villa.
  5. makouns_grin would throw a fit if he saw the expectations from Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool fans etc. Nothing wrong with our expectations. We've been in the Premier League since it's birth. We don't deserve someone like McLeish ffs.
  6. says a lot. Seeing as they've already done it to us, it's only kind to return the favour.
  7. Pardew is doing a fantastic job because also he has had assets stripped out the club. Nolan, Barton, Carroll, Enrique (best fallback in the league imo), yet he's still hold his own and that's what you call a good manager. Well done to him. Never thought I'll see the day when I have deep envy for Newcastle.
  8. You actually thought 7th was possible this season?
  9. Liverpool aren't ambitious when they think someone like Adam is good enough for them. This is the same club who had Mascherano and Alonso not that long ago. Bunch of idiots.
  10. SHA got behind the team and they got punished for being patient with McLeish. I quite like the idea I'm hearing about everyone bringing their newspapers and reading them for the next home game. Anything to belittle McLeish and the board is good in my book.
  11. I hate what our yank owner has done to us. We've been in the Premier League since it started and alot of teams are miles ahead of us. He hired this USELESS waste of space who isn't fit to manage at football nevermind us and he's not gonna do anything about it. Something has to be done in the Everton game.
  12. Relegation has done Newcastle the world of good.
  13. Carroll out for 35m and Ba in for free. I think that's the best transfer business I've ever seen.
  14. We've scored 1 goal out of the last 4 home games. Looks like this 'manager' is going to break alot of negative records at this club.
  15. You're not necessarily forced to convince anyone to stay. When a player still has several years left on their contract you can always just tell 'em that they're staying, like it or not. Yes, there is a potential downside to that, but there is also an upside ... perhaps a very long-term upside. I bet you're itching to give us an example. Hmm, I wonder what that could be?
  16. I think we can all agree MON is better than McLeish though.
  17. He didn't go a good enough job here. Not with the money he spent. He's too limited for the modern game. No club will win or achieve anything worthwhile under him anymore. Back in the 90's it suited managers like MON but not now.
  18. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15895975.stm But then again, who actually took that prat seriously anyway?
  19. I've lurked their forum a few times in the past and they're hilarious. Their reactions are virtually nothing from stuff like "shit like"
  20. This club needs a backbone. There's just no leadership in any department.
  21. We need to decipher this a bit methinks; we were (reportedly) informed that Downing "won't be sold for anything less than a mega offer" and he went for £20m. I suppose it's arguable whether that amount qualifies as "mega" or not; not for me, which leads me to say if we're told that Bent "won't be sold at any price" does that mean we'll probably sell for anything over £30m? http://tinyurl.com/7deryl5 Now they're saying something similar regarding Bent. It's like they want him to be sold.
  22. To answer you question I'd only be taking your word for it that West Ham offered him more money so you'll forgive me that I dont. It was said in the press conference when he became our player. You mean when he was defending the question he'd come here for money, convenient to mention something that would be incredibly difficult for anyone to disprove in order to divert the attention away that he only came here for the money. Yet you've done nothing to prove why he just came here for the money. I actually agree with you that he came here for the money, but I think it's a few other things as well. I've argued that it was the case of Young/Downing. Here's another one. Villa being bigger than Sunderland.

  24. Not sure on that. When he came he had Downing/Ash at the club I think he genuinely thought he could score goals for fun whilst those two were around (and to be fair he did) but now those two are gone it's hardly surprising the goals stats aren't the same as last season either. Except that the 80k that is often banded around may well be a quite conservative estimate and its well over 100k. The same rumours of him and Gab not getting on are also where this higher wage has been mentioned. I'd like to hear if MM knows. Bent didn't come here just for the money. Very ignorant to say otherwise. Thanks for the reasoning. I think its very ignorant to think that he didnt. You worked out why he's called Eck yet? So explain to me why he decided to go to Tottenham over West Ham? West Ham offered them more money, but he went to Tottenham because they had more promise. It was the same with us. With him in the side and 2 great wingers, we would have been able to compete again. The board have let him down big time.
