Given the fact that Guzan was one of only two players who covered themselves in glory in the shower of shite that was last season, its no surprise that Villa fans overestimate his ability somewhat. Same thing happened with the other one.

The problem with refs giving interviews about decisions is that they would trot out the same line... "From the angle I saw it I had to make a split second assessment of the situation and I interpreted that as (insert* foul/pen/freekick/goal/onside/offside)" End of interview. A totally pointless exercise. Refs shouldn't be pandering to players, managers or the media. You could solve the issues overnight with two introductions a la Rugby. 1) Mic up the refs - we hear decisions being explained and what the players are saying to them 2) Only the captain can address the referee unless the ref asks to speak to a player. It would also meant that the broadcasters would put pressure on the managers to act with a little bit of class on the touchline.

I played that on my iPad for a while but found that it was impossible to earn enough coins to buy contract cards as they were so expensive, for example I think I was getting 400-500 coins per win and a single contract card was nearly 1k coins, so I couldn't keep my squad in contracts. I guess that's not a problem on Android then? I unlocked the full game for £3 and I've been playing the Manager mode for weeks, it's ace! Yeah....to be fair I've sunk £15 or so into gold packs to get the contracts and spend coins pretty much exclusively on consumables. Its probably my one complaint about the game. The business model needs some mechanic to encourage repeat spending so the contract expiring thing seems reasonable - trouble is, they combine it with a "fitness" mechanic as well so you're doubly buggered. Haven't unlocked the full game yet but I will no doubt.

I sort of agree Mike. Had he not involved himself in the possession of firearms he would be alive today. He didn't derserve to die..... but he put himself in a position where it became possible for the Police to respond with firearms themselves.

Surpised there wasn't a thread on the Mark Duggan inquest. Personally think the jury made the best stab at a really difficult situation. Not sure there was a better outcome tbh. One of my favourite Villa players ever. Loved him as a kid. Agree with all the comments that its a shame he waited until he finished playing but I understand why. Trouble is.... I appear to play like the Villa too. I win most games but its soak up the pressure, destroy them with pace on the break hoofball type stuff. Im not proud though. It has seen me into League 4.

6 weeks ago I would have defended the manual gearbox to the death. The gearbox in the Landy is shit beyond belief. Laggy, stupid and lazy. The throttle response is diabolical. Even using the semi auto mode is hopeless. The A1 has an S-tronic semi auto gear box with flappy paddles. Its brilliant. I'm a convert. I will never buy another manual car. Ever. Other essential stuff Cruise control is fabulous. Auto dimming rear vew mirror front and rear screen clear (the audi is meh at this but the Ford system in the FreeLander is fantastic) bluetooth connectivity (not just the phone but media streaming as well) AV parking sensors heated leather seats.

So, a couple of hours ago I was in a Currys / PC World in Chatham. I was looking for a flipflange for my gizbot, I engaged the helpful young assistant in conversation and he found one that fitted, great, a positive visit with a positive result. But then, then, right at the end having had a chat about business phones he asked where my accent was from. "Wales", I answered (it's actually very BBC newsreader neutral, he was clearly very perceptive of accents). This was a regular home grown early twenties bloke capable of operating a till and reading the spec on a box of cables. I was walking out of the shop, wondering if he would know what Nuneaton was, nevermind where it was. * I did check he'd heard me properly though my strong celt / kent hybrid accent and yes, he knew I'd said Wales. So I said it was over the west, by Bristol. Id be amazed if the kid in question has been further north than Bluewater.
