Poor show. although the link is to the Grauniad , the Daily Heil actually make a WWII reference in their report of it so he doesn't appear to be the only person making this analogy ... risky title perhaps but a fair one in the context On the face of it (by which I mean I haven't read the full details of the Welfare Bill to see if it is as the headline suggest ) it's actually quite a sickening policy .. it's one thing going after "benefit scroungers" (excuse the term but i think everyone knows the context it's being used in ) but this appears (see disclaimer above about not having read the bill in it's entirety) to be a step (or many steps) too far My objection is based on the comparison with Auschwitz. I have kept my council on my feelings towards the policy again having not read the Bill. however, asking people who are able to undertake some form of work to do so does not seem in principle unreasonable. If those people are not able to undertake work then they shouldn't be forced to. This is hardly the same as forcing several hundred thousand people into a gas chamber now is it?

So in your opinion, that report is "hand wringing lefty rhetoric", interesting how your denial of it happening sort of fits in. Or are you trying to make some insult towards particular VT posters? Snowy's interpretation of it certainly is, at best. God forbid drat I'm shocked. I've lived in Kent for 20 years now and NEVER seen a Villa kit made by any manufacturer in ANY sport shop, Nike or otherwise. The arguement that Nike give us bigger "global appeal" is quite simply bollocks. Liverpool, Man Utds global profile is down to the fact that they are the two most succesful teams in the county. Do you wander into JJB and see any Sporting Gijon (HeeHon) kits? No. Why? Because nobody gives a **** about Sporting HeeHon. They care about Real Madrid and Barcalona. Why? Becuase they are the most successful teams in Spain. So the sad, and seemingly difficult lesson for us to note is..... Nobody in Asia, the Middle East, Antartica or anywhere else gives a **** about Aston Villa. (apart from the collection of global miss fits and perverts that grace Villa Talk of course - and FWIW I love each and everyone of you.)
