  1. And of course Kendricks is really ITK. Frankly he is a gash journalist who has been as led by the so called rumours as much as anyone and didn't have the balls to come out and have a go about the situation until very late in the day. I for one am far from "fantasising about new owners". Quite the reverse as it could all go from bad to worse. Like most I was excited when Lerner took over but the whole experience since makes you realise even when you have a Billionaire owner it is no guarantee of success. I am glad he is off but reserve judgement on any new owners till they declare their investment plans.
  2. John as you know the DM and every other rag will be speculating on loads of buyers over the next weeks/months hoping they can claim "we told you so..."
  3. What? What business has Lerner ever run successfully? I know it's not exactly a well known company, but perhaps MBNA rings a bell? He might not be good at running sports franchises, or at least not at choosing who runs them for him, but people suggesting he doesn't know anything about business are ridiculous. Just because his dad was rich doesn't mean that Randy is clueless. You don't run a business and sell it for a profit or remain head of a huge company like MBNA without being a good businessman. I can understand the criticism of his running of Villa and the Browns, but the harshest critics should take faith that the buying and selling of businesses is something Randy does know a thing or two about. Lerner did not "run" MBNA, he became Chairman as a result of inheriting his fathers shares.
  4. On the contrary I think Lerner is a **** businessman and his time as owner of AVFC reinforces that opinion. Despite being lauded as a Billionaire entrepreneur when he first joined us, he hasn't actually ever created a successful business.
  5. I don't think so. Why would he walk and lose a years money - unless he has had an approach? As it stands rightly or wrongly he is damaged goods and I cannot see him getting another job in the Premier League for the foreseeable future.
  6. Yep, very difficult. Like the players, I assume he will take a break. But if he has no idea of budgets, the future etc etc i assume any interest in new players will be put on the back burner. My concern is that any sale will take weeks, months to conclude
  7. Strange times for Lambert. Maybe we can assume that he knew the "club is for sale" but that Lerner had said his future will be up to new owners.
  8. JESUS IS A VILLA FAN! Only yesterday, 3000 of us at WHL asked for divine intervention and 24 hours later our prayers were answered! ;-)
  9. Krulak is like a cockroach crawling out of the woodwork! To the last the clearing in the woods talks in riddles!
  10. he's got a buyer Is that your opinion or fact?
  11. "....... next person or group to take the Club forward" I don't think he has a buyer. He will have engaged the advisors some time ago and it is very possible that they started the rumours to smoke out interested parties. This is going to be a long summer.
  12. Given his mismanagement, I think is absolutely possible.
  13. It is entirely possible that he will say we are "up for sale" but it that would leave us in a strange & the worst kind of limbo. Anyone interested in buying a PL club would already know this so maybe Lerner wasn't happy with what he has been offered. In other ways it doesn't make sense. I can't remember a time when any PL club was publicly "up for sale" - it has always been done on the QT. This doesn't bode well if true.
  14. LOL It was long day at Spurs yesterday at so I am still a bit hungover this morning! when I first read this, I thought it said: "klinsmann's wife" :-)
  15. That has been the case in a numbers of games recently. Against Stoke, Fulham and Palace they simply wanted it way more than us. I can excuse a lack of quality but a lack of effort is unforgivable and suggests a deep rooted issue. Mark I think the "deep routed issue" is simply that they are not good enough!
  16. Lerner has to go! and no he wasn't worse that Ellis, but he has failed. I am just surprised that while the fans turned on lambert there was never anything negative towards Lerner.
  17. Had a good chat with Ian Taylor at Spurs today after the game; asked him whether he thought Lerner was off and he said he honestly hadn't got a clue but thinks that "after that" the manager must be off. Was very down like the rest of us.
  18. Just got back, football from Villa was as poor as we have come to expect. Fans were tremendous today! Many Spurs fans commented on the ironic chants and thought it was all very funny. Traffic cone guys were brilliant, but my favourite fancy dress was the guy with the cross and dressed as Jesus which promoted the chants of the day: Jesus is a Villa fans We need a miracle! Jesus, Jesus sort it out! The fans made another shit away day bearable. This must be the worst Villa squad in a generation Had a good chat with Ian Taylor; asked him whether he thought Lerner was off and he said he honestly got a clue but thinks that the manager is gone!
  19. Accept your point, but 1981/82 is well less than "50 years ago"
  20. Very subjective comment. On the contrary, I would suggest that they realise how the mighty have fallen. Sunderland were like Villa a massive club and some of their fans empathise: "Your living in the past fella just like many safc and av fans............. av were a big club and so were sunderland.................av have won the european cup....but so have derby!..............look at the history of both clubs and there are a lot of parallels............. sunderland like av were once the best in the land but no more !sad but get real at this present time av are no better than sunderland end off!"
  21. For me this post sums up what it is to be a Villa fan. I am tired of all the ITK shit! I have supported the Villa for 54 years and my proudest moment was standing on the Holte against Preston North End in November 1968 with just over 13,000 other Villa fans. We lost 0-1, went to the bottom of div 2 and were devastated beyond belief but I and 13,000+ other diehards never ever thought of turning away. However in this Internet age, the above counts for **** all, long live the software!
