  1. Reaching a point where HMRC are threatening a wind up order, a request for more time to pay and a promise to make a ‘substantial’ payment is all evidence that the club definitely don’t have any money and that probably Xia hasn’t either.

  3. Just seen that “The club has been given a brief extension to make the payment” This is bad, very bad.
  4. It is worse than even that. If we are wound up and go into liquidation - we start with a 10 point deduction. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administration_(British_football)
  5. The word ‘substantial’ is also worrying as it suggests the club not be paying everything due. I was due to renew this week but will need assurances that the club will not be wound up and my money lost.
  6. My fear is, that as some of us have long queried, he may not be as flush as he has always claimed. He may have gambled everything on promotion and the club is now facing disaster. Outstanding tax may amount to many millions. He may not have it
  7. If this true, the club is in a desperate situation. It may suggest Xia hadnt (and still hasn’t?) got the money needed to pay the tax. The tax isn’t paid yet.
  8. “However, a source close to the club insisted on Tuesday that its board was "confident of making a substantial tax payment within days". But, but, but .... Xia is supposed to be a billionaire! A threat by HMRC to wind up doesn’t appear out of the blue. This must have been going on for many months It stinks to high heaven
  9. Only one way to read this. We are screwed, Xia has failed as an owner and we are now destined to spend years in the Championship or worse.
  10. I said a few weeks ago that I felt Grealish was the most skillful player we have had since Merson. After today, i now think he is probably the most skillful we have had since I started well over 50 years and my favourite legend ever was Brian Little who was incredible and could walk on water! Grealish has ‘something’ else, is very, very special and is on another level compared to anyone in this league. He is incredibly calm on the ball, a quick thinker and bamboozles defenders I hesitate to claim it but think he will be an absolute star in the PL.Hopefully with us However sadly imho we are going to struggle to keep him even if we go up. Unless Dr.Xia has very deep pockets and is determined to keep him as we could build a great team around Grealish.
  11. If wolves lose tomorrow and we beat them Saturday, THEY will be in the mix. This is a huge week.
  12. IF Wolves lose tomorrow and We beat them Saturday we are 4 points behind and they are in the mix!
  13. Where did you get that from? It has never been “I love Aston Villa’ It has always been “Hi Ho Aston Villa”
  14. Most skilful midfield player we have had in 30+ years, with the possible exception of Paul Merson IMHO And he can only get better.
  15. Disagree totally. As the season has progressed we have become much more of a team with quite a number of individuals standing out; Grealish, Snodgrass, Hogan, Adomah, Terry, Hutton, Johnstone, Bjarnason are all playing well You only have to look at how Grealish’s work rate has improved to understand how much working for the team matters. We have a lot of players in form and up for this game and the passion is there for all to see.
  16. Anybody else feeling nervous and excited? Fantastic chance to get into automatic promotion place. We are head and shoulders better that sha but... nerves jangling!
  17. When Jedinak returns, with the likes of Adomah, Snodgrass, Onamah, Green etc are we on the verge of having an excellent midfield for the first time in years?
  18. Showed what he can do tonight. Can only get better.
  19. Excellent result. Need to keep it going now. Really looking forward to Saturday.
  20. We can go equal sixth as results stand (i think)
  21. I do not like Bruce as a manager, never have. However the reality is that as long as we're in with a shout of the play offs (or better) he is staying. I am happy that for now we are playing 4-4-2 but as the game against Forest showed we still have big problems keeping the ball and we are far rom being able to dominate games.
  22. Very much this. He hasn't got his touch yet, lacks fitness etc, should have been taken off earlier but he is trying to make things happen. Imho he will come good and people will be singing his praises soon.
  23. Only just got back from Brum after an over nighter. Thought Albert was excellent and am a little surprised he has not had a lot more plaudits. For me he was MOTM. He was up and down the pitch throughout the match. Even though I am still frustrated by Snodgrass it was good to see him and Albert trying to make things happen.
