No doubt we have been poor under Gerrard for the most part but today, and all I'm talking about is today, its on the players. We had enough chances to win. Coutinho scores then we probably win 3-0.

We had several good chances. Coutinho hit the post, Watkins missed two one on ones and Konsa had a great chance. We should have won with the chances we had. That's why its not in Gerrard. I know everyone will disagree but they're wrong if they take their blinkers off.

You cant blame Gerrard for that one. It was just shocking quality and decision making in the final third. That wont stop everyone piling in though.

Everything bad about Watkins tonight. Can't finish, isnt confident he can finish and in games like this, we absolutely need someone who can. Immensely frustrating player.

I said in the match thread that he's been very good the last few games. An absolute nuisance to defenders, they must hate playing against him. Sadly his form has gone a little under the radar because of the poor results. Either way, he's first name on the teamsheet atm and I never thought I'd say that again.

Some of the criticism in here is ridiculous. Ok you may not like Gerrard's tactics, team selection, signings whatever. That's your opinion. But these digs or saying he needs to **** off etc are well over the top. This stemming from his Liverpool days. Quite frankly, some people need to grow up. Gerrard is a good man, he's trying his absolute best. He may not be the right man or turn it around but he's giving his all to the cause. I so want to him to do well here because I like him and how he comes across in interviews. I also think the players like him too and also want to turn it around. Today was very good, I expected a heavy loss like most people. We need to push on of course but today was a step in the right direction and we couldnt ask for more TODAY.

I have to say Ollie Watkins has been much improved in recent games.

Yeah this is a game where it would be irrelevant what team and tactics we use. We've been getting dominated and not creating anything against some of the worst sides in the league so god knows what Man City will do to us. I would be amazed if we have a single shot on target. We'll probably be 4-0 down after 30 mins but I'm mentally prepared for it.

Same problems as every game. Opened up for fun and then at the opposite end, no through balls, shit crosses, very few chances and zero cutting edge. We look shaky at the back and are toothless up front. We're getting the results those two problems create.

Literally the only positive of that half is that we're only 1-0 down.
