He still made loads of wrong decisions and lost the ball a lot but he also had some end product tonight. He really tries his hardest though which is great as a fan.

Never doubted him

Literally any team we put out should be wiping the floor with a League Two side. Im not that bothered anyway, we weren’t going to win it so may as well go out now.

He is a very talented player but unfortunately has zero football IQ. Doesn't know when to take a player on or when to pass. Doesn't know when to cross or when to cut back in. Will skin two players then lose the ball trying to skin another, often unnecessarily. He overplays almost every possession. Worst of all, he never seems to learn. I don't think he even knows what he's doing wrong.

Its genuinely unbelievable and disgusting that we haven't beaten United at Villa Park since 1995. Not even one fluke win. If Emery manages it in his first game then the hype machine will be off the rails.

Some of the comments in here are ridiculous. Yes he's bang is out of form and yes he's been very poor this season but he isnt sulking, storming down the tunnel, being petulant or anything else. He's trying his best. Do you think he wants to be out of form? He wont be going to the World Cup. Mentally, he's probably devastated with morale on the floor for both those reasons. But we've been total dogshit this season and creative players are always the ones who suffer the most in rubbish teams. Emery is here and hopefully he will get the best out of him. He's only 30 and 30 these days is like 25 used to be. He isnt washed up, he showed glimpses of his talent last season. Rather than saying "ship him off to the China", we should be praying that he comes good because he can literally dominate a game when he's on it. The raging negativity about him and his contract isnt helping anything. We were celebrating when he signed a permanent deal so people need to stop pretending that it was a bad move. If he comes good, you will all about turn and start salivating over him.

It’s somewhat refreshing to see Teflon Buendia get some criticism for a change. He was the bestest player in the world when he was barely playing. Now fans are starting to see why he signed for us and why he was playing for Norwich before that. Because he’s not that good that’s why. Im not sure how many times we need to sign Championship sides’ best players to realise it’s a stupid transfer policy that doesn’t work. Hopefully it stops with Emery and I’m sure it will.
