  1. Are you guys not worried that if we get a new manager we may need to re build our squad again and wait for our players to gel?

or is there a suggestion that a new manager would get the most out of our current squad?

  2. Hmm

The reason why we lack so many goals is because we don't have any continuity with our players and backroom staff.  Because we continue to change things theres no fluidity or pattern in our play.

We need a settled starting 11. When Bruce arrived we began to score and win a few games but for whatever reason we have had a drastic change with players and now we're back to the drawing board. We also got rid of Ayew and Gestede & McCormack..  Gestede and Ayew should not have went.

The positive note is that if we stay up and bruce stays, we would be better prepared for next season that we was for this season.

The article by Chester was quite telling to me about the attitude inside the club .

James Chester has revealed that the atmosphere in Aston Villa’s dressing-room was so toxic that the players were scared to criticise each other.

Villa’s skipper has lifted the lid on the mess inherited by Steve Bruce after a mixed start to the Geordie’s reign at the club.

Bruce’s arrival saw an immediate impact, encouraging a belief that the former European champions could push themselves into the play-off mix.

But seven defeats in eight games has extinguished those hopes, and Chester, 28, said: “After our current run, we have not had any team meetings as such. But words are spoken after games – and it’s an element of this club that needs to improve.

  4. I don't think there is any point in sacking him.. I really cannot see any other manager being able to stop this rot.

These players cannot handle the expectation of playing for a historic football club with high expectations.

The players we have have never played under these circumstances.

We may have a talented squad but they cannot  deal with the pressure.

We attract and sign these players and after the first week they realise how difficult it really is here.

We need a proper winger. Birkir is not that. He has done nothing offensively.

I think Kodjia has done fine, but we need someone else creating chances from the right.

I agree that Birkir is not the best offensive player but i think his understanding tactically is very good.  He is the type a player you would put on with 20 mins to go.

  6. Like many other fans, i find it weird that despite whoever we bring to this club, they get swamped in the dark cloud at Aston Villa FC.

The biggest problem at this football club is the weight of expectation added with recent failures. The real question is whether a player like Conor Hourihane (who i believe is very talented) can deal with the pressure of playing for Aston Villa. It's very rare that when a footballer comes to a football club he is tasked with the responsibility of changing the fortunes of a big football in low league football.

Are we underestimating the task that our players have?

Fans are screaming for Wagner or Dean Smith, but can they really deal with the club, fans, chairman, media at this football club?

There is no real expectation at Huddersfield or Brentford, the players are free to play how they like with no pressure and these managers do not have the weight of the club on their shoulders the way SB does.

I personally think that the players that we have signed in the previous transfer windows did not realise how tough it is at Aston Villa and now they are realising how hard it will be to get promoted.

Its such a lose lose situation. We cant have another manager that comes in and doesnt rate the squad and wants to bring his own again.

However, if Bruce is dire.. it doesnt leave us with many options. Hes been there and done that..  if anyone deserves a longer go at it.. its probably him.

We just need to pray he scrapes through this season and we stay up. Give him the off season and go again. Maybe bring in better coaches.. better goalkeeper and CB. Sell a few of the awful players. Start again next season.

Risk is him staying and we go down. Unlikely but we said that last year.

    Pretty much this.

Even if we loss the next three game he has to stay.  We cannot afford another manager and another squad at this level. Bruce has to be given time to work with this squad whether we like it or not.

  8. I hope that he stays

How many times are we going to keep changing a manager because of some bad form?

Villa will never be the club that we once were if we keep sacking managers.

He is a very capable manager at this level and he deserves the time to make things right and make us effective.

I Don't watch championship football.... but I'm always aware of who the top performers are.

Still waiting to see him 'destroy' any defenders this year, seen him destroy plenty of good opportunities though!

    Makes sense now..

Absolute bollocks. I know shit football when I see it

Well how easy is it to get a set of new players to play total football in one week?

Didn't you guys notice the nice passage play we had around the 70th minute. We showed glimpses of things to come.

  11. This is the first time i have seen our youth players perform and i am impressed.

They are all cohesive, they talk to each other and now how they want to play.

I think this just proves that time together builds chemistry and an understanding.

For me it makes it even more apparent that our senior squad need time to build.

Albert Adomah: Hadn't heard of him before we signed him, which is usually a sign that they can't be all that! and sure enough, he has proved to be bang average! Yes he has pace, but christ almighty, how many times does he waste good opportunities? Andre Green has shown more in his couple of appearances.

Because you haven't heard of him doesn't mean that he is not good enough lol.

He has been destroying defenders for the past 3/4 years at this level, furthermore he came to our club at a time where we had ZERO width, he is adds pace and another dimension to us when our players very frequently pull together..
