Verus what...Languishing in the Championship and losing out on all the TV money..I think it's small change compared to player wages & transfer fees
Hmm what about FFP?

Say if we tried to lure Rodgers for example that would cost quite a bit

Can we afford a compensation package for Bruce and an employed Manager?
-
Personally I cannot see this happening.
We lack goals and effectiveness i've said it many times on here
-
Alan Pardew would not be a bad shout I reckon that he could get us playing and scoring loads. Only issue is that he is not good at building a squad long term.
Jokanovic for me should be the number one target BUT how does this affect the FFP situation?

I dont know anything about what really goes on in the background that leads to the owner appointing a manager just like you don't but imo Wyness and Round are the most likely to be the main influence.
But he's "Out of date" right?
Okay..

Or...appointing Bruce was the wrong decision which means that's 2 managers appointed under wyness who have been terrible so his position needs looking at. No point sticking with wyness if he's as out of date as our manager when it comes to understanding the modern game and what's required be competitive and progressive.
RDM was Xia's choice do you want him to get sacked too?
Also SB was recommended by Steve Round.
How do you know Wyness is out of date, do you know what he does at this football club?
-
What also worries me is that he is going to continue to sell and buy players but this going to make no difference..
Karanka perhaps?

flores still out of work? I'd be delighted with him. Was excellent with Watford.
He's at Espanyol

Hold on a second - nobody is!
One poster has said he should go IF he gets the next appointment wrong whilst someone else has merely said he might not be the right person to help rebuild this club.
Have a scope around the forum and you will see that there a suggestions questioning his role at this club..
-
Should we hang on to him?
We might end up with a manager that could get the best out of him..

A tactician
A football philosopher
There are a few of those in Germany right?

It is to some extent. If you hire the wrong man you have to take some responsibility for it.
So what else has he done wrong at his day to day role to get sacked?

Hold on second
Why are we calling for him to be sacked?
What has he done wrong?
As a CEO he has done a tremendous job at this club i.e the running, commercial appointments ect.
The reality is that Steve Bruce has been given everything that he required to succeed and he has failed.. that is not Keith Wyness's fault.

Steve Bruce saying that he has only been at the club for the best part of 6 months

We're in a tough predicament right now.
We had a pre-season that consisted of great PR with a mission statement of promotion. We all were told the things that we wanted to hear and there has been a lot of gloss over this summer.
The tone has changed from;
" Building a squad capable to mount a challenge "
" Needing time to settle "
"Needing Pre- Season to create a style"
"Buying the players that can handle the pressure"
All of the above have been excuses not only from Bruce but by Keith Wyness.
The problem that we now have is that this is our second game this season and many could say that we are jumping the gun of wanting Bruce out.. Maybe we should not have renewed his rolling contract at the end of last season?
So what happens now?
- We sack him, hire a new manager and expect promotion? - I genuinely think that if that happens then it is a footballing miracle.
- He stays and proves us all wrong?
- He stays and we finish mid-table and lose half of our squad next summer because of FFP
- We sack him, hire a new manager but he needs a year to rebuild this squad that has already been rebuilt? - This could potentially damage the dressing room but I am sure we are use to that though aren't we?
I do think the biggest problem that we have is the manager. I think that his coaching squad is threadbare and totally inept but that's just my opinion.
If I had my way I would not have renewed his rolling contract last season and would have tried to pinch Jokanovic from Fulham and gave him a full pre-season. Despite Jokanovic being unhappy at Fulham, I don't think that we are in a position to get him right now because a lot of managers perhaps views this club as a managers graveyard which currently... it is.
I still think that automatic promotion is a stretch for this season, as I have said many times on here (Despite being challenged), we do not have the squad capable of mounting a challenge nor do we have the best squad in the Championship.

Bruce will not be going anywhere this month
This season is going to be a very bumpy ride lol
We're a play off team at best..
-
This is when the season really starts now.
On paper we have better players but Cardiff will battle and match us in every way. If we can win this game ugly this will show us all that we have the mental toughness to see out this season.
If we lose this game then its not the end of the world but what it will show is that SB still has a lot of work to do. The real question would be;
Has Bruce done everything that he can? or is there more for him to do?
Very interesting game, but for me. No Sky TV, no home supporters or big occasion. Our real Championship season starts in Cardiff this Saturday at 3pm against a proper Championship side.
Come on Villa!!

He looks to have put a bit of size on.
Physically he is maturing. He could be first team player this season.

Looks suited to that number 10 role.
I'd have him in there the next game.
I don't think he's ready for the next.
He looks very good.

I wonder how much work is being put into our Academy. I have read that there have been some things done behind the scenes. Furthermore we want 6 academy players to be part of our first team squad this season.
I read somewhere that Dortmund want £135 million for Dembele and an uncapped english player (Gray) was signed for £18.5 million. The prices are crazy at the moment and I would like to think that building from within would but us in a better place for the future.
Hopefully this academy plays a key role in the philosophy of this football club

He was not Bruce's signing he was Round's signing.
Bruce does not rate him as highly as the other players hence why he has signed two additional midfielders that can play in his position/
-
Bruce needs to stay.
We underestimate teams too many times on this forum.
Hull are a very good Championship side and could finish in the playoffs.
The other top teams in the division did not perform well also. Fulham played beautiful football this afternoon and left with a point.. like us.
/
We shouldn't d write our team off because each player worked hard on that pitch and we created a lot of chances. What we are lacking are other options upfront.
We need another striker.
-
I've said this many times..
We are weak upfront.
/
We created so many chances in the first half but did not convert them into goals we should have one the first game.
The reality is that Hull are on of the stronger teams in this division so it is a fair result. Boro lost, Fulham drew, Sheff Weds lost, Sunderland drew.
We move on towards the next game. I think Bruce needs to sign a big man.

I don't think it has a great affect to be honest. The high volume of foreign players that we had 2 years ago was one of the reasons why we got relegated lol
