Soo NSWE should purchase a bespoke Data company?

I also think Lange will be using his infrastructure in the British transfer market mainly. There are a lot of talented players in the lower leagues that end up making it to top level and national football.
I would go as far as he has been probably assessing our squad and players for the past month and is further ahead in recruiting young talent than we are aware of.
The academy players must be delighted to know they will be under good guidance. As they may all have individual road maps.

Well to be fair he is proven in the Champions League which is considered a European top league.

I think people are thinking of the Sporting Director too much in terms of recruitment, there will be a lot more to the job than just recruitment. We actually have an 'Head of Recruitment' and will also have scouts who's job it will be to spot players. A Sporting Director will be in charge of things like deciding how the club wants to play and charging the scouts with finding players to suit that system and also finding coaches that can implement that style and making sure that the youth teams also play in the same way. If you look into what someone like Ralf Rangnick does with Red Bull there's a lot more to it than just spotting players, same with Brentford and what they're doing.
There are certainly different styles to being a sporting director.
heavily recruitment based/ Philosophy based ect

I will hold my hands up and say that I got it wrong in terms wanting him sacked.
Dean Smith looks to thrive in pressure and likes being the underdog. I still have reservations about him but because he has improved towards the last 5 games of the season I will dismiss those for the time being.
The players seem to like him and it will be his 3rd season with us which is good in terms of stability. I think he would benefit from some additional help in the coaching department.
Looking forward to next season.

I’m very excited about this appointment to be honest and Michael Emenalo should be a no brainier to be honest but I am open to other appointments.

He is one of my favourite Villa players. His goals and assist have brought me so much delight over the past few years that they are part of my own memories.
He is a big influence in the dressing room and he is very vocal. He has been at this club since the we were trying to find our feet in the championship and next season will be his 5th.
Top professional!

I disagree, Solanke has been on the books of Chelsea and Liverpool for a reason, I think he is very talented, good finisher, he works hard for the team too.
Howe is an excellent manager I think, he has been linked with the England job in the past and kept Bournemouth in the Premier League for 5 years, it’s a great achievement
Problem with Eddie Howe is his man management. I’ve heard whispers from ex players at Bournemouth of his Jekyl and Hyde personality. A lot of his signings don’t do well however his existing core from the Championship are the ones that pull through for him.

Chris Wood would get you ten premier league goals minimum.
I would consider him Burnley need the money imo.

Proved me wrong!
Well done DS!

He has just seen a 17 year old leave a championship club to join Dortmund. He is probably thinking to himself that he needs to move on and rightly so.
He will be going to City, maybe Chelsea.
Now is probably the time to show ambition and push on with his career.
-
I don’t think that our owners will be willing to let him go without a fight if we stay up..
But he deserves to move on and play for a better team with a higher ceiling.
Only team that can afford him will be City.
-
He belongs at this level, he has also bulked up since lockdown.
Defensively and offensively he is good and will only get better with experience.
He does have the tendency to ball watch but he will improve.
-
If we stay up..
This transfer window should be interesting.
There are going to be a lot of good players available.
Cantwell, Buendia, Doucoure ect
Premier league experience please and some quality wide players.
We also need a quality striker

I woke up feeling happy about last night. Honestly I cannot believe that we have it in our hands for the last game of the season.
Arsenal will be be up for it against Watford, they want to fight for places and Deeneys comments about them 3 years ago on BT might bite him.
Bournemouth are the dark horse in this and could possibly get a win at Everton.
Sunday 4pm will be BIG!
-
Deano has proved me wrong this evening.
He set us up very well tactically
-
This is literally the best opportunity that we have to stay up.
Hopefully the players are fired up for Tuesday!

I’d like to think that’s what’s happening. Plus you’d think that even an outsider who is a professional DOF or in a role that heavily involves him in football at the top level, would have kept at least reasonably educated eye on all the teams in the PL Especially those that could conceivably be improved by a man of his skills. Let’s face it us bunch of amateurs all think we know better, so hopefully anyone we’re looking at would at least have that much belief in himself.
I agree, the same way scouts still identify players whilst unemployed.

If we are looking to appoint one you would hope that's the target has been identified and they already have a good knowledge of the squad.
This is the hope.
Questions to Purslow if that is not the case.

Fans thinking that relegation is acceptable from a manager because we beat a Liverpool u-18 side to ultimately reach the League cup final..

Honestly mate, what on earth are you talking about? The same manager who took us out of the Championship at the first time of asking! Jesus.
We got promoted because Grealish dragged us to the playoffs, when Grealish was injured we were playing poorly and he was close to getting the sack.
At this time he still did not implement any type of attacking philosophy that he spoke of.
He helped identify the players that we now have this season and now people are saying they are not his signings. There are interviews of his saying that he watched Trezeguet play for his country several times.
He has has been poor this season, he didn’t change anything when we were losing games and still left us open at the back.
He agreed to sign Danny Drinkwater when he has been completely pointless.
His game management has been poor, even against Everton, we stopped pressing and we invited pressure, that was a tactical move. If it wasn’t then it’s even more concerning that his players are not taking his instructions.
Perhaps you are besotted with him because he is supports the club..
-
That’s the main point.
Purslow needs to pull something out the bag otherwise we will be really questioning him.

With another year of building and better recruitment he may well do. We're going to be close with the mess we are now. Not unthinkable that we do better if we bounce straight back.
Very unlikely we are going to him another year, that would 3 years.
We can’t be developing managers hoping that they will do well in their 3rd year.

I would keep him, see how he develops but he needs to learn how to fight for his spot and have a relentless attitude.
