I think if Grealish does leave it will be done amicably.
There is no reason for there to be sour grapes on both sides.
We are called a classy club in this sport for a reason and we might see why during Grealish’s departure.

I’m gutted for him. I hope he remains mentally strong..
-
Realistically, we couldn’t even break any of our academy players into the first team whilst in he Championship. That’s how difficult the league is.
Realistically the only academy players that could play in the Championship is JPB & Chukwuemeka.

Very good move for him.
Hopefully he thrives at this level and learns the good and bad.

My heart is thinking that this could persuade Jack..
My head is telling me that this is replacing Jack..

There is no release clause.
Why is it so hard to accept that maybe Jack does and still does believe in the vision put to him? And would therefore not include such a clause.
His agent is a very shrewd negotiator.. Grealish was in the driving seat at the end of our survival campaign. That release clause was to protect Grealish and financially for us.
His agent wanted Grealish at another club 3 years ago. He has been waiting for this moment to happen.
-
We didn’t have the option to accept the bid also.
After just surviving to stay up Grealish’s agent definitely negotiated a release clause otherwise that 5 year deal would not have been signed.
It looks like the release clause has been triggered.

One thing I’ve come to realise over the last 24 hours is that to break into the top 6 you need to do it quickly, ideally in one season. Go from obscurity to renown in one season.
You can’t do it slowly, cos your team will be picked apart before you get there, and before your club gains enough credibility to attract world class talent.
100%!!

He could do that here. We have world class facilities, top coaches, and massive potential he could be the guy that got us promoted, then kept us up, then consolidated, then got us into Europe, then won us a trophy.
Instead he will be the guy that done well for us, got us back where we belong, but only hung around until a some club bigger came along.
If he is a Villa fan, his dreams are all in a Villa shirt! It's not a lack of ambition that would be keeping him here, it's love, and real ambition!
There are clubs with better facilities in the league than us. Ask Tyrone Mings..
All this talk about dreams ect sounds romantic but In the real world he is in the peak of his career and there are probably players in that England squad that he is better than playing European football..
If we are being realistic Champions league football is not coming here any time soon.
-
Deal will be completed next week by the looks of it.
As I said before Grealish is a footballer first and a Villa fan second.
He needs to be playing Champions League football and being coached by the best.
It will be hard to see him go but I won’t begrudge him.
-
To simplify it for you.
He is probably at his peak playing years.
-
Jack is a footballer first and a Villa fan second...
Manchester City is a wonderful opportunity for him to play at the highest level and he turns 26 next year.
Let’s not kid ourselves

Well it looks like he will be off

I would like this to be concluded by our first league game because this cannot be happening every summer.. it’s ridiculous

Romano is very credible..
The facts that we are in talks with City means that they are going to break the British transfer record for him..
We are offering Grealish more money but no European football.
Grealish won’t be going to city unless Pep has told him that he will be in of the main guys in the team and by the looks of things, he could be.
-
He needs a rest.
A full PL season, Copa America and now the Olympics in Japan..
I’m not surprised in the slightest that his form is dropping off.

We would not be bidding for a player that wasn’t interested in a move..
-
I’m happy to see him back at the club, growing up he was my favourite player for the club and still is one of my favourites.
I hope he produces and makes the club proud.
-
Looks like Grealish will be carrying this type of stress injury for years to come but he has to manage it.
it is a worry and I think that we won’t be seeing him at the start of the season which is why we are pushing for creative players in the market.
-
Grealish won’t be fit by Saturday.
Many are clutching on straws.
Also, I find the mass amount of speculation about him addicted to drugs ect very weird.
Let’s support whatever team is out there on the pitch.
-
I think he is done here now.
A player with his ability should be at least coming off the bench when we’re losing against a team in 18th place.
DS does not trust him enough at this moment.
Will probably end up at Newcastle if they stay up.
-
I am reserving my judgement because we have had players start slow and look better the following season.
He appears to be more defensively aware off the ball, tracking runners ect .
He is not a starter.

He is still learning at this level. Some could say at our expense but he is improving also.
Facts were we looked poor for most of the game and the manager made a tactical change that influenced the game.
I hope that he learns from this game and season and I hope that he has a few things lined up in the summer.
-
Changed the game.
Physically imposing, high energy and good on the ball.
He has the makings of a very good box to box midfield player.
He should be starting ahead of Sanson.
Yes he is inexperienced but how else is he meant to gain experience at this level?!

Im surprised that we are signing him as a striker though.
