Bailey and Traore are not playmakers unfortunately. They are tricky wingers playing narrower than normal.

Coutinho is the only playmaker.

It also feels like we are playing with no striker..

Concerning that we cannot break this team down and they have had a shot on target.

I think he is off.

If Carney intended to sign that contract offered he would have been in OZ right now.

Gerrard is clearly pi**ed off with the situation.

He gave his end of the bargain with minutes ect and in return Carney & rep have not met their end of the bargain.

Those players have to exist, it's the world of football.

Raphinha was under the radar for years and now he is going to Barca as he is approaching 26yrs old.

We definitely have a top 10 team but we need a top level midfielder who can really dominate on and off the ball.

A press resistant midfielder is what we need.

We also need a top 5 level striker from abroad that is not on the radar of the big clubs.

Benteke was that level before his demise. 

Those two type of players would get us into Europe.

Unfortunately Watkins and Mcginn are not top 6/8 quality players.

The kit looks pretty decent. 

I certainly underestimated Castore.

He looks a talent, tall, very good technically, can distribute the ball well and loves to slide in..

Probably part of the best batch of CB's to come through the academy since Nathan Baker, Ciaran Clark.. Kinda shows how poor we have been in producing CB's.

With two senior CB's injured this is actually a perfect opportunity for himself and Kerr Smith to get some first team action but by the looks of it he seems to be ahead of Kerr Smith in terms of development.

This is what I was thinking today.

The gap is widening as we speak between European contenders and mid-table teams.

It will be extremely difficult.

Honest thoughts,

Our kits and training gear have been below par for a very long time.

Disappointed in the club for being half bothered about the kit manufacturer and designs.

Mings is not a great CB and that’s what we need unfortunately.

All the teams are strengthening I can’t see us finishing in European place with this squad.

We need another CB, LB, CM, ST.

This squad will get us in the 10th place.

We are going to need a very tight back line or a high scoring midfield..

What we need is some type of press resistant number 8.

A player that is good at resisting the press from the opposition and being able to spread the ball out to other players. 
 

Once we have that, our ball retention will be higher and we can carry out a better counter attack.

I believe this is what we were looking for hence why we tried to sign Bentacur. He is very skilled at resisting the press..

He is more agile and creative than his brother but he has a physical side already.

I watched him brush players off the ball and hold the ball very easily.

He has a bit of Prime Dele Alli about him.

He will take longer to develop I.e 2 more seasons before breaking into the first team but has a higher ceiling than JJ.

I think his decision will be made during pre season.

If he features heavily then I can see him staying tbh.

Didn’t we start an away game at Bournemouth a few seasons ago?

It is a tricky one, we won't know how this will affect us until we are in the midst of next season.

Gerrard has placed too much emphasis on Beale in interviews/podcast which is why many of us are questioning Gerrard's ability.

Gerrard clearly has his own idea of playing but may be incapable of coaching it at a higher level to his players which is where Beale fits in.

The world of football is huge and it is an industry of talented coaches, players act.

We will be able to attract someone capable of doing what Beale has done maybe even better.

The challenge is, how quickly can the new coach adapt, does he have the right personality and not create a divide in the dressing room, does Gerrard trust his judgment enough to listen and not bypass his advice at the 72nd minute when we are down by one goal.

We are fortunate enough that we have someone which an incredibly high stature to attract the right clientele.

I think that we already have a shortlist of replacements.

We have learnt from losing a number 2 last season and we cannot allow that to disrupt our preseason in succession.

Very happy with our movement in the transfer market..HOWEVER

Our players need to perform and our manager and coaching staff need to make this work otherwise we will just be seen as the club throwing money at average players..
