I do think that inevitably he will come back during his career.
But I also think that he has peaked already.
City will never get the Grealish that we had for two reasons.
1.) The football system will not allow him to be that type of player.
2.) He does not have the same feeling playing for City that he does playing for Villa.
-
I wish him the best, one day we could be cheering him on for England.. who knows?
I think the club choice is not the best mainly due to many players not making It at Chelsea.
Mason Mount & Reece James are Chelsea boys, and have been all their lives, so they were always going to get that extra push.
He will get a lot of loans, and could forge a career at a decent level, but it will be a case of whether the fee was too little or too high for someone unproven.

Brighton's recruitment has been pretty impressive over the past few years.
They seem to be the building block talented players go to before moving on to the bigger stage.
-
I don't care how, but I expect a win.
We have a full strength side.

This reminds me of the Bobby Duncan story. (Ironically the cousin of SG)
Thought he was good enough to challenge the first team at Liverpool. His agent got into his ear. Ended up at Fiorentina, didn’t get any games, went to Derby County, didn’t play..
Now he is playing third tier Spanish football at Real Balompedica Linense..

If we get a number 8 that can press better and is a very good passer, part of Ollie’s game would be supplemented, which would mean Ings would be better.
Ings was more effective for Southampton because he has James Ward Prowse and Romeu behind him.
-
I think when it comes to striking the ball, he is a killer.
The problem is that the midfielder’s have to work extra hard off the ball when he isn’t playing without Ollie.
Mainly because his pressing is not as effective as Ollie’s.
Let’s just say he scores twice against Rennes. I can see SG starting him against Bournemouth.

A few weeks before the winter transfer window?

SG gets my backing until March.

McGinn shouldn't be starting either.
I understand but I’m discussing Mings.
It was inevitable that he would lose his captaincy.
-
The reality is that he needed to be stripped of the captaincy so he could focus on his performances.
He is fighting for a starting place let alone being captain.
This will result in two things, he will either improve as a player or he will regress and become out of favour.

Martinez for me
We have better CB's at the club than Mings.
-
I think he adds some robustness to our midfield which is needed.
I remember in the first half he out muscled 3 Utd players and dribbled past them.
He has quality just his possession retention is not the best.
-
The conditions were poor for him.
But he needed this game, the physicality, the tempo and the quality of opposition.
He grew into the game in the second half.
But I am very happy he played 60 mins against a Utd side.
-
He looks better than last season already.
Quality player in possession, him and Kamara will be a great partnership.
-
I enjoyed the game.
I feel that all of our players needed this game as a reminder of the quality of the season ahead.
I do not think we were awful, but was a match that has given SG plenty to think about.
-
I think a CF is a priority tbh.
We need a quality forward that can hold the ball, bring players like Coutinho & Buendia into play and free up a striker like Ings or Watkins.
Ings and Watkins cannot play together against better quality opposition because their strength is not holding up the ball.
I do not know who that Striker is but we need a someone with physicality and the ability to score a few goals.

I said earlier that he needs to go on loan but he was impressive..
-
His distribution is top quality.
First half he plays a ball from deep, out wide to Digne..
Against lower quality opposition he splits their defence with one pass..
Very exciting

He defends well, calm in possession and scores.
Is he currently our best CB based on form? Yes
Chambers and Carlos for me
-
Great performance.
You can tell how bad he wants his career in England to kick off.
-
A season in the Championship and he will have an edge to his game.
-
He didn't look good at all.
Even simple things like passing it to Konsa, trapping the ball.. he looked way off it.
Competition is high for those two defensive positions...
-
He is a natural finisher.
In or around the 18 yard box he isn't trying to find a pass or take extra touches, he take a shot.
None of our strikers do this..
He finds himself in goalscoring positions that currently I don't seen any of our strikers doing.

Yeah I don't think we will finish in the top 8 but that doesn't mean SG should be sacked unless we are fighting relegation.
It takes years to build something, however fans want success quickly.
If it takes two more seasons to get into Europe, then so be it..
But we cannot keep building and ripping up things up immediately.
