  1. I didn’t watch the game or see the highlights as I had a feeling we wouldn’t have won that game and I did not want to ruin my weekend.

I will say, it’s becoming more apparent that SG isn’t tactical and himself and coaching team don’t have enough about them to implement a known style.

I did say give him until after Xmas but now I feel that he isn’t good enough.

We are screwed because we have thrown some money at players that didn’t want to play for the club but wanted to play under Gerrard.

I just don’t know how this going to end honestly.

McGrath didn't train for 7 years and is our best player since the war.

Not sure what your point is tbh. It's all on the pitch.

I am not sure what your point is..

I am discussing why Konsa may be ahead of Calum Chambers..

We are not speaking about someone that hasn't played for this club in over 25 years.. that played under a different manager.. during the 90's.. lol

So 1 defender dictates everything. All that money spent and Carlos is the difference between top half and not? I find that nonsense. And if it is true then what the **** have we been doing in the transfer windows?

I remember Dean got a lot of stick for not being able to do as well without Jack. Let's see if the same applies then.

This game is about fine margins albeit a lapse of concentration or an injury to a champions league level defender that can be the difference between top half and bottom half.

Imagine if in some roundabout way, this turns out to be a blessing long term?

Say for example we sign another top CB ( Lacroix for example )

Next summer, we let go of Konsa, then Carlos is fit.

We then have a CB squad of Lacroix ( Or other top CB ) , Carlos, Mings, Chambers.

Possibly a CB stack we wouldn't be able to attract / convince about first team opportunities if Carlos wasn't out.

That's a pretty high calibre CB stack.

Apparently Lacroix is " Two footed " as well, so could cover both sides.

    Clutching?

    It is an interesting perspective.

I will say that we will need someone with experience.

I cannot see us signing a young French CB, I think it will be a lot of mental pressure for a young CB to come here and do that.

Naturally our fans place too much pressure on players.

  5. I said previously we haven't really strengthened our squad.

Now that Carlos is out for a few months we basically have a similar group of CB's (Bar Chambers) that we had when we got promoted

    We haven't upgraded on quality.

    Worrying..

  6. As we approach the last quarter of the transfer window I don't feel that we have strengthened that much in comparison to the other teams around us.

I still feel that we needed a central midfielder and a striker at the very least.

We still have time but we pretty much have the same squad as two seasons ago..

  7. Let’s not forget, Mings was poor this pre season he shouldn’t have started.

It’s crazy that the same fans that were slating him are the ones now backing him..

  8. He has been crap for us tbh..

He hasn’t had one outstanding full game here.

I think he is a sulker and has a bad attitude.

He got subbed and started kicking bottles everywhere..

    Bin him..

    Just like Keane? Lambert? Bruce?

Progress isn't an inevitability for coaches. Depends on how open they are to change, and learning from their mistakes.

Same could be said about Brendan Rodgers, Mikel Arteta ,Graham Potter, Steve Cooper..
