He brought in Smith which proved to be a masterstoke and sacked him a bit too soon. Then brought in Gerrard as they thought he was a young, up and coming manager who could be here for years. It hasn't worked out that way and I think come the WC break, they will make another change if/when results don't improve.
He will know the pressure on this one given the season ticket waiting list, the north stand redevelopment and the shear importance of remaining in the Premier League. I can see him going all out for a proven manager like Poch/Tuchel/Rodgers and hopefully one of which takes up the post. The issue for him will be what to do if the 'big names' don't come.
I have faith that he will get the next one right.
On the whole, I think he has done great things for the club and won't want that to go backwards.
Aint happening..

We won’t get a big name here because although we are biased as fans, we are not regarded in the same manner across Europe.
We can’t attract Poch or Tuchel, any talented European manager that would come here wouldn’t have the same reputation..
Purslow should, leave the managerial process to Lange..
Lange is more likely to look for a European manager..
If Lange screws this up then he can go..
If Purslow is part of the managerial process it would be a British manager.. Sean Dyche..

I don't think Purslow should be replaced.
He has done a lot of good for the club behind the scenes.
Before he joined we were a laughing stock in the footballing world.

Ange Postecoglou should be our number 1 choice imo

After Steve Bruce we took 2 steps forward with Deano..
Now we have taken 3 steps back with Gerrard.

Thought this Carragher quote was very interesting/worrying...
"He looks like a 5 a side player. The pitch is too big for him. The game is too quick, the other players too powerful."
Very accurate statement by him too.
He doesn't suit a narrow system, spread the players across the pitch an he gets more space and time on the ball.

He will play under the new manager..

I grew up idolising him as a kid.
My favourite Villa player of all time, great character for this club too.

More chance of Sean Dyche than Poch..
Purslow prefers British managers..
Maybe he is waiting for Rodgers to get sacked
-
He is setting us up to not lose and to protect his reputation and keep himself at a job..
Poor Manager.
I couldn’t even celebrate the goal, he has sucked every bit of excitement from this club
-
He is finished as a Premier league player

Modern day Steve Bruce

We won’t lose this game because Forest offer nothing upfront.

Every match we will be grinding out results regardless of the opposition..
He is not brave tactically..
He is trying to stay here as long as possible by any means..

Very interesting interview on Talksport.
Briefly spoke about Villa, mentioned that he speaks to SG 3 times a week sharing ideas and giving advice.
Also mentioned that we are club that was in the Championship a few years ago and we need to build a strong identity.

Does anyone think that SG might start being judged after the World Cup?
Is there a chance Kamara and Diego Carlos would be back by then or not?
-
I think we could be stuck with Gerrard for this season at the very least..
Purslow isn’t going to sack him and he’s going to get more time..
Tough times ahead..

This kid is special.. no he is not human!

We've pretty much nullified Leeds (I don't remember a chance they've had? Could be wrong), created 3 very good chances - probably should've done better in finishing - and have battled in the game.
This is exactly the sort of match I was dreading - a pressing side, full of energy is exactly what we struggle against. But this has been OK. We've handled them well.Very accurate

The interview screams desperation, he’s not even going to stay so why do an interview.
Only thing that I want to hear on his side is that he has signed the contract..
