  1. Dyche has rejected an offer from Bournemouth..

Which is odd because it is a potentially good opportunity for him..

I think that he is holding out for this job.

I also think that we are interested, mainly because of what West Ham have achieved with a pragmatic manager..

Dyche with a budget would make us extremely difficult at Villa park.

I would also say that Burnley had an extremely low budget and brought players of a specific identity.

  2. Exactly!

So our fans are desperate for Villa to throw €30m at a 37 year old manager from a minor league with just 3 years managerial experience… seriously?
That’s the most Villa fan thing ever

Definite no to all the experienced PL managers too. Brilliant.

  3. Amorim would need a lot of patience here..

Are Villa fans prepared to be patient with this coach?

Similar to Arteta in terms of age and perhaps coaching ability but have contrasting playing styles..

Amorim coming to Villa would be a real long term project..

  4. Dyche won't be a bad appointment..

He could be what David Moyes is to West Ham for us..

The fans wouldn't want him though but he is a very likeable person.

I am not going to pretend that I know who Ruben Amorim is.. I have done a bit of researching he looks like a promising coach that makes his teams hard to beat and has a tremendous defensive record..So I understand the hype..

But if it goes wrong, which we have experienced before with a promising young European coach.. then it would be a costly catastrophic appointment.. if it goes right it could be a masterstroke..

Why would he be good? Serious question. I only really know of him from Arsenal and that seemed underwhelming.

    • Four Europa League trophies..
    • He is a decorated European level coach
    • Tactically flexible
    • Game management level high
    • Premier League experience

  6. Emery is top quality.

He would have us in the top 10 this season.

And have us in Europe whilst competing for a UEL trophy the following season.

He doesn't have the wow factor but he is a winner and has won more than Poch.

I believe that his head wouldn't get turned and would focus on the project at hand here.

The only reservation I have is his approach towards bringing youth players into the first team squad.

  7. Purslow has done a very good job at this football club behind the scenes.

Only mistake he made was hiring SG..

He is part of the many exciting projects that are happening at Villa i.e stadium expansion, inner city academy, reshaping our youth academy ect..

Purslow has been our best CEO in recent memory!

I don’t think he needs to be sacked, I certainly don’t trust him all that much at the moment but as others have suggested, restrict his role in terms of the football side of things and he should focus on the corporate and commercial side 100% instead. If he fronts up and sacks Gerrard and gets the next appointment right that will go some way in restoring trust and making up for this current situation.

    agree

I feel we’ll go back to the Grealish saga of panicking every window that someone’s going to steal our guy with Poch. We’ll then end up starting again. Again.

This is the major problem tbh

But I would still take him even if it was for 2 seasons.

We deserve some joy, even if it is short term.

  10. He won’t be sacked this week.

A loss or draw to Fulham and then he is in serious problems.

In recent memory I cannot remember the last time we have won at Craven Cottage.

That is a bogey stadium for us..

    **** Southgate.

I suspect part of the reason Mings may be struggling mentally is getting dumped from the England team with very little reason.

    Excuses..

Mings is not a top 10 Cb in this league…

He is our best CB but we have poor quality defenders..
