Things you often Wonder

Is Aragorn really just a man though? I thought he was different, lives longer or something.

Aragorn is a man but he is a descendent of the Dúnedain, some of whom became Rangers of the North. Dúnedain themselves originate from Númenór which was a Kingdom in the West. They typically live longer than normal men which is proved in the extended cuts of the movies where Aragorn tells Éowyn that he is actually 87 years old despite looking in his thirties.

Gandalf was originally a Maiar from the Undying Lands (the place he, Frodo and Bilbo go to when they board the ship at the end of the films) named Olórin. He was of the order of the Istar (wizards) of whom a few were sent to Middle Earth to help and counsel the people there when Sauron first rose to power.

Where on earth is BOF?  Did someone upset him?

He only makes an appearance in our universe when he's summoned by a question in the 'Ask BOF Anything' thread.

Job done he returns to Limbo, stopping only for a quick drink.
